Uggh I do not know…… display shouldn’t “move around” under normal condition. This really doesn’t seem to be normal at all.

And about the gap, IMO the gap should not be big enough that you can see some metal parts (like first pictures).

The person at the apple store said it is fine if you can see the metal at the top the gap is only a couple microns wide. If the gap is not at the top it’s at the bottom. Also when we say “move the display” we mean only the LITTLE distance to close the gap. Also normal the phone is only held down laterally by the adhesive and that is always gonna have a little bit of give to it

So you think that if there is a seal with glue around, then if we can move the display, it does not mean that the display is detaching from the seal or the phone was badly glued?
If you push on the seal it’s gonna move no matter what the amount it’s moving is minimal and it may or may not make it looser

But display should be glued with iPhone body and it’s a bit strange that it's not stuck tightly. I wonder if you move the display, the gasket will not be damaged by accident..

The gasket is pretty thick and it’s not glued it’s just super sticky adhesive. I have had 3 phones and they all move a bit if you force it. It may or may not “damage” it but the amount you move it is so minimal I doubt it makes a difference

I thought that the seal, which is responsible for the waterproof, sticks the display to the frame. which gasket sticks it?

The gasket and seal are the same thing. The only thing that makes the device waterproof is the adhesive. It should be fully sealed

I have had 3 different phones and they all have the gap. 2 at the top and 1 at the bottom. My lastest one has the gap at the top and the earpiece speaker wiggles around a bit ?

Also I’m pretty sure you do have a “gap” it’s almost impossible to get one without one and every phone at the apple store had one

My 13 Pro has absolutely no gap at all, on the top or the bottom, and the screen doesn't "move" at ALL. Nowhere for it to move.

Hi, Yesterday I received 13 pro max. I noticed small gap between frame and speaker.
Gap Is visible in bright rooms or when we going outside, when sun shines.
I can see metal parts. Is this a problem?
iPhone still is waterproof?
In attachment I send a photos

That is not normal at all-- it looks like something is way off tolerance or not assembled properly

If you look at many other posts on this sub many people have the same issue and the consensus is that it’s normal you just be lucky to not have a gap

It only appears that way because the vast majority of people with no gap are not posting about it on a forum. When you see a bunch of people post their gaps, it's easy to assume that must be the majority, but it's in fact the opposite.

Most of the gap pictures I've seen are caused by a bend/warp in the metal chassis, not by variances in the size of the chassis. That's not normal, and I would definitely be concerned about the water resistance.

EDIT: And in rafal886 picture, the speaker grille looks like it isn't even sitting flush with the screen-- but...

EDIT again: Wait, does he have a glass screen protector on? That is making it look like the gap is way bigger than it is. His is actually not THAT bad if so.

Yeah I thought that too. I’m curious if his grill moves up and down too maybe he can answer
