Based on experience from previous years, the answer to "should you upgrade from iPhone X to iPhone X+1?" is almost universally no. Same for Watch and iPad.
Yeah. I remember how much freaking better (indeed quantum leaps) were the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4 compared to the models they replaced. Back then, I upgraded every single year, up to the iPhone 4 and the iPad 3. (Then, the iPad3, despite its problems, was satisfying for me up until the Air 2.)

Definitely not so big leaps nowadays. 8k recording, if it indeed delivers 8k though (in the Pro models) with no major problems, will be a major selling point this year (a quantum leap, I'd say; unlike with, say, the camera upgrades in the 12 (Pro (Max)) and the 13 (Pro (Max))), though. Same with 48 Mpixels.

I know the article s about 13 vs 14, but I am using a 12 Pro Max and I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna upgrade to the 14 PM.
My heart wants to, but the 12 PM is still so good. So fast, take good pictures and amazing 4K video and the design is so good.
Well I have time to decide...

I’m definitely upgrading mine. The battery life on my 12 Pro Max is horrible. My battery hit 20% yesterday at 2pm.

All I want is usb-c. Is that so hard to understand? My iPad has it. My MacBook pro has it. My Samsung s22 has it. I share my fast charging usb-c cable with all of them. I only need one cable in my room, my kitchen, my car. Oh, except I have the one exception that can't share the cables with any of them, stupid iPhone.
Exactly, it seems a bit nuts to buy the last iphone with lightning and be consigned to dragging more and more cables everywhere. The quicker everyone decides on usb c the happier I will be!

I don’t think I’ll be getting it just because of how much I dislike the Swiss cheese hole selfie camera. Is that rumor is true of course. I know it’s like the notch where people say you won’t notice it but every time I see an android phone with that hole in the screen it’s like fingernails on the chalkboard 😂

That is a very good reason to upgrade if the battery wont last all day.
Mine is at 94% after 19 months, and the battery still last 1 1/2 day. Medium user.
If you dont mind me asking how is your batteryhealth?

You can have the battery changed for a new one without buying a new phone. I did this two times with my old 6S back then and it ran as new afterwards. I had this done at Apple.
And that 12 Pro Max from above is too new to be retired.

I bet you at some point during the presentation Timmey will say "This is our fastest iPhone EVER!!!!!".

I'll wait for a higher mega pixel camera AND USBC.

Sad when it takes the European Union and now even India and Brazil and other countries too, to force Apple to upgrade to USBC a modern day standard that almost everyone else has, certainly any of the expensive phones have it.

And Apple just leave us here in the US behind everyone else because it saves them a few dollars.

One of the biggest companies in the world.

I’m more interested in the 13 pro vs the 14. My wife has an upgrade and can get a very cheap 13pro (more than likely 14pro will be too expensive out of the gate unfortunately).
Sounds like the only thing the 14 wins against the 13 pro is the better front facing camera

Apple will really cash on us with iPhone 14 this year, not counting the inflation.

Under 'Differences' the article states that the iPhone 13 is "Available in 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch display sizes", while the iPhone 14 is "Available 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes".

Doesn't the iPhone 13 also come in a 6.7-inch version?

I know I can have the battery changed, but I would rather upgrade and keep my 12 Pro Max.

LOL. If you can compare it now, without the iPhone 14 being released nor is there any official news out. You can make an comparison of the iPhone 15, while you at it.
