My spouse has the 11 and her battery is the big problem, she has to charge it at least once, maybe twice during the day. We could replace the battery, but we're going to get the 14 Pro for her since the camera is so much better (I can say that since even if it was equivalent to the 13 Pro it would be better) vs the 11.
Makes sense. Why pay $50 for a battery when you can drop a $1200 for a few extra hours charge.

I'll wait for a higher mega pixel camera AND USBC.

Sad when it takes the European Union and now even India and Brazil and other countries too, to force Apple to upgrade to USBC a modern day standard that almost everyone else has, certainly any of the expensive phones have it.

And Apple just leave us here in the US behind everyone else because it saves them a few dollars.

One of the biggest companies in the world.

Not to play the devil's advocate but saving a few dollars or even just cents by sticking to Lightning/USB 2.0 will quickly turn into hundreds of millions saved annually when you consider how many iPhones, AirPods, etc. are sold per year and the royalties Apple gets through the MFi certification program.

Other brands could not get away with this as consumers could simply get Android phones from a manufacturer that uses a modern data/charging port.

Holding out as long as possible is the best decision for Apple and its shareholder's finances. I wouldn't even be surprised if they manage to circumvent the legislation for a few more years and put Lightning in iPhone 15 and maybe even 16.

Sure, it seems like it will be enforced in the EU. But still it's not like it's actually being enforced on any products in 2022. 🤷‍♂️

As bad as I want it to happen, or at the very least to see Apple get fined when it doesn't. I don't believe the EU enforcing USB-C it until I see it.

I’ll be upgrading from an XR to a 13 or 13 pro Best Buy Canada Geek Squad open box when they invariably slash the prices like they do after every Fall launch, especially considering rumoured price increases on the 14 line. Riskier than a certified Apple refurb, but fully returnable and 15 day return policy on phones means less window of abuse from the first owner, for what amounts to 25-30% savings off the original price.

No offense but my XS is just fine(tm). I'll upgrade when it becomes unbearably slow or when they come up with another killer feature that I want. I'm not holding my breath for that, the last time that happened is when they made my laptop be able to do messages/calls through the phone and that was quite a while ago...

Evolutionary, not revolutionary. My wife is still happy with her X. I have a 12 Pro Max. I'll be upgrading when there's USB-C and the rumored "periscope" zoom that will eliminate the last advantage that my 'regular' camera has over my phone. I'll probably end up buying a pair of iPhone 15 units if it has those two features I mentioned above.

The mini was the least successful iPhone in the history of the iPhone. Looks like you won’t be upgrading again….ever.
The bottom line is... the mini is too big to be truly-useful for folks who want a small one. The last iPhone I could use one-handed was the 4s. And they took away the telescopic camera that earlier models had. So if I'm stuck using a phone 2-handed, why bother going with the one with worse other features?

Under 'Differences' the article states that the iPhone 13 is "Available in 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch display sizes", while the iPhone 14 is "Available 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes".

Doesn't the iPhone 13 also come in a 6.7-inch version?
lol, I thought you were going to point out that the iPhone 14 isn't actually "available" and we don't know for sure what screen sizes it will have.

I know the article s about 13 vs 14, but I am using a 12 Pro Max and I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna upgrade to the 14 PM.
My heart wants to, but the 12 PM is still so good. So fast, take good pictures and amazing 4K video and the design is so good.
Well I have time to decide...

My 12 Max is still great. I think it will be good enough for another couple of years or more.

really can't justify an upgrade from my 13 pro. gone are the days of significant year over year upgrades. a yearly release is more about hype now than a substantially improved phone.

Mine is at 82% after almost 2 years.
My 12 Pro Max is at 88% (487 cycles) but feels like less than 80%... less stellar than first year for sure.

I don't want to buy a 14 Pro Max and give a reward to Apple for this issue...

The place that would give me a great trade value for 12 Pro Max 256GB requires 85% battery life minimum (Gamestop in Canada).

I will need to wait many months to reach 80% or less to get out-of-warranty replacement at Apple.
