great point and one I made to Apple and my friends who have the 13 Pro Max. They are at 90% after 2 YEARS of use, when our 14 Pro Max's are down to 90% (wait let me check... phew, still at 90%) after 1 YEAR of use.

I was saying to myself if my battery drops below 90% (I just need 1% more to drop) before the iPhone 15 Pro Max is released then I am allowed to get it. 🤣
So you compare your battery usage with those of others? Makes no sense. Simply order the 15PM you just need the reason that you want it 😊

After 11 months and 321 cycles my iPhone 14 Pro battery level is at 91.4%
After 36 months and 755 cycles my iPhone 12 Pro Max battery level is at 90%

Is that acceptable degration og iPhone 14 Pro battery?

Thinking about it, could it be that more and more people are constantly plugging in and unplugging their phones in their car to use carplay (if you dont have Wireless Carplay). I would think that would impact battery health?

I don't use Carplay or plug my phone throughout the day, yet I'm at 89% - my iPhone 13 Pro Max which now my wife uses, a year older, is at 94%.

Quite crappy to have this after a year. I don't think there's any usage patterns impacting this, mostly ****** quality batteries.

Don't know, don't have Carplay.

I have Wireless CarPlay, but even if I plug it, it’s 5W charging via the Car.

Didn’t have an impact on previous iPhones.

I just checked mine this morning. It's at 92%. I've had the phone one year next week.

93%

- Purchased on release day 2022
- Always charged with Apple MagSafe charger
-Regular use of wired CarPlay 😑

Any thoughts on how often a MagSafe charger should be replaced?

Is it normal or not for battery to lose 10% of its capacity in a less of a year?
How many cycles? Li ion also deteriorates only from aging. Also remember that deterioration is NOT linear. The battery from my X (was once replaced) is still at 87%.

Why would you want to change the MagSafe charger just like that?

13 Pro after 2 years 90%. Every night I use the Belkin MagSafe charger and bc battery life is crap now I charge during the day with fast charge cable

14 Pro Max almost since launch (returned Pro for Pro Max after initial 2 weeks).

Still at 100% battery health according to iOS. Mostly charge with Belkin MagSafe at home, ESR MagSafe in the car, and ESR battery pack or 20W wired charger at work.

Automation set to alert me when it charges to 80%, so I almost never let it go above 80%, or fall below 30%. I charge it to 100% when I know I’ll be out the whole day and want the convenience and peace of mind of a fully charged phone.

It’s a fair thought, but it won’t be a problem. The temperature at which neodymium magnets - which I presume these are - start to lose their magnetism, the Currie temperature is 80°C/180°F. It would feel very hot to touch about 60°C/140°F.
If the pucks’s kept clean from skin oils etc I’d bet there’s no real difference in the power of attachment from new.

I am 93% on 1 year old 14pm which is acceptable for me as I don’t worry about all this charging gymnastics.

If I take 7% off the full battery capacity of 4323 that is 4020. 14pro at full strength is 3279 so I think I am ok. 🙌🏻

I am however giving my phone to my Dad and getting a 15pm. He has a 11 which is at 80% and his max capacity was 3110 so he is only getting 2,488. And yes I do understand not everything is linear.

14 Pro Max - got on launch day 2022. Battery health is currently 88% and I typically charge once a day overnight on an Apple MagSafe charger. I definitely notice a decrease in daily use and look forward to my 15 ProMax that's arriving on Fri. Hopefully this battery does better.
