In 2022, Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 Pro as the successor to the popular iPhone 13 Pro, introducing an always-on display, the Dynamic Island, a 48-megapixel camera, the A16 Bionic chip, longer battery life, and more. Two years later, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to offer at least 60 upgrades. All of the changes the iPhone 16 Pro models are rumored to feature compared to their 2022 predecessor are listed below, using information from reliable sources that we have previously covered here on MacRumors. We will continue to update this article as more rumors emerge prior to Apple's "It's glowtime" event on Monday, September 9.

My iPhone 14 Pro is doing great and no plans to upgrade until maybe iPhone 18

The future iPhone 17 supposedly will offer 12 GB of RAM compared to 8GB of RAM. Just bumping the memory up should be able to support more concurrent AI features be run all at once locally rather using the cloud as much per recent rumors. Supposedly iOS 19 is headed in this direction versus the first AI implementations with iOS 18 this coming year. Thats not to say 8 GB since the iPhone 15 Pro, and very soon the iPhone 16 series won't hold you for a long time.

I hope all this is ram is usable by the rest of the OS, for those of us that plan on disabling all the AI "features".

Still not anything compelling enough to move on from 13 Pro. New and shiny doesn't do anything for me.

Many of the so called improvements looks like typical corporate town hall presentation bullet points, not real improvements. Rounded corners with rectangle, brushed body, iPhone 14 Pro has OLED display as well which it is cleverly not mentioned, they didn’t mention exactly how many NP in 16 Pro, lightening port (is more compliance than improvement), thermal design (14 Pro is not heat prone like 15 Pro hence many may not consider this as an improvement) etc…Big improvements could be Size, Processor, RAM, material if you are so particular about Titanium (which gave heat issues in 15 Pro is another matter).

“With many users adopting two-year upgrade cycles, plenty of iPhone 14 Pro owners will be looking to upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro later this year…”

I stopped doing this nonsense many years ago, after doing yearly upgrade cycles. Wife, and I, upgraded from the iPhone 8 Plus, to the 14 Pro Max. We expect to use these phones for a few years. Even the two year “upgrades” aren't impactful enough anymore.
Must have been nice watching you call others broke till you saw the light of common sense

iPhone 16 pro will not be getting WiFi 7
Yeah but like at this point
Is Wifi 7 really a necessity
Like the current wifi now is fine speed wise and I have a iPhone 14 pro
I mean I’m getting a 16 pro max for sure but like the wifi 7 isn’t a deal breaker for me I am quite content with my internet its pretty fast
Like what’s the big deal about wifi 7?

Well WiFi 7 capabilities are backwards compatible. With only 8 Gb of RAM and no WiFi 7 it ain’t future proof. But maybe it’s apples goal to let you buy new iPhones every year to be able to use all the new things of iOS 19, 20, etc.

It’s a shame no iPhone lower than the 15 pro is able to handle Apple Intelligence. Apple told us they’ve been working on it for years. That’s planned obsolescence 🤬

It’s a nasty Timmy trick!

I'd love to upgrade from my 13 Pro, but may just replace the battery and get another year or two out of it. Still a great phone and I don't think it's missing anything I really need. Also, I'm probably in the minority, but I prefer the look of the notch over the dynamic island.
