Hi everyone, my iPhone 15 pro battery is amazing, I could say it's the best battery in an iPhone I've ever owned. Here are the data:

IPhone 15 Pro launch day
285 cycles
Manufacture date of battery 2023/07/21
Manufacturer of battery Desay Corporation
80% limit from launch day

Back when this topic was created - a sturdy 100%. Right now at 96%, 273 cycles. Launch day 15 Pro, charging overnight with a cable, optimized charging activated.

The battery life on this phone has seemed pretty poor since day one.

I only charge every night on a super fast wired charger... but in the last few months, I've had to start charging around 5-6pm (business owner here... and I live on my phone).

2 days after updating to iOS 18, battery health drops by 1% for my 15 Pro Max. Now at 206 cycles and 94% battery health.

98%
142 cycles

this is the first time I ever remember seeing less than 100% a year later when I traded it in

Any tips on how youve kept it at 98% and such a low cycle count please?

My 15 Pro is at 94% currently and 258 cycle count. I don't really use the phone to watch videos or for gaming so I normally get a whole days charge.

Do you just keep your phone constanly above a certain charge %? or not charge above 80%? etc

I think the takeaway here is that limiting charging to 80% doesn’t actually preserve battery health.

This will be my last check of the cycles after upgrading to the 16 Pro Max today.

575 cycles after almost exactly 1 year of use, and still on an impressive 92%.

I charge overnight on MagSafe, during the day I charge with a mixture of fast charging (wired) and occasional slow charging (12w).

For the first 5-6 months I limited charge to 80% then I just kept it at 100% with optimised charging.

The fact that you did almost 600 cycles in only a year is impresive as well. My xs max had 800+ cycles in 4 years and 4 months !. Battery life was at 69% though 😂.

Do you have the 15 pro max or are you upgrading tier also? I got the 15 pro max and find it hard to drain it. 575 cycles over 365 days is 1.5 times charging the phone a day. Either you are using your phone too much🤣 or something you use chugs the battery in a second. But the fact that the battery is rated 1000 cycles shows a lot of improvement in how it degrades seen in your 92% health.

I started with 80% limit too and went to optimized later as well, always wired with 20w apple charger. 100% health over 150 cycles today, purchased end of january.

I went from the 15 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max.

My phone is used extensively for anything from ‘typical’ use, to gaming (COD Mobile and Pokémon Go), to hotspotting my MacBook when working remotely. I also charge my watch occasionally, and due to the poor thermal management of the 15, I have a Razr phone cooler I plug into the USBC too.

Plus… I do probably use it too much 🤣

I have to charge mid day typically. Makes me want to just go ahead and upgrade to a 16pro. I do have 18.1 installed.

Im surprised to see not only you but many that have this battery health with half as much cycles as other people that even have better health. I wonder why this is, if its due to the owner’s type of use, quality of charger and/or charge, quality of battery, country used and average temperature.

My battery started dropping nuts on my xs max after ios 15 which at the same time started to generate lots of heat randomly and in some cases with normal use, facetime generated double or more heat on the phone than it did on ios 12/13/14, this stayed like this on ios 16-17 too. I replaced the battery myself with a brand new genuine battery, it still did generate more heat than it should but half as much as before the replacement.

Makes me think if heat has more impact than people think on the battery life. I have been very carefull of the temperature of my 15 pm and have cooled it down when it heated on some tasks, im still 100% on 151 cycles.
