Im surprised to see not only you but many that have this battery health with half as much cycles as other people that even have better health. I wonder why this is, if its due to the owner’s type of use, quality of charger and/or charge, quality of battery, country used and average temperature.

My battery started dropping nuts on my xs max after ios 15 which at the same time started to generate lots of heat randomly and in some cases with normal use, facetime generated double or more heat on the phone than it did on ios 12/13/14, this stayed like this on ios 16-17 too. I replaced the battery myself with a brand new genuine battery, it still did generate more heat than it should but half as much as before the replacement.

Makes me think if heat has more impact than people think on the battery life. I have been very carefull of the temperature of my 15 pm and have cooled it down when it heated on some tasks, im still 100% on 151 cycles.
Definitely type of use. My phone is always connected to my power bank throughout the day, and when I reach work, it’s immediately connected to my laptop. My phone has never been below 90%, and heavy gaming also contributes to the degradation. Sometimes I even leave my phone on for specific idle games overnight.

Any tips on how youve kept it at 98% and such a low cycle count please?

My 15 Pro is at 94% currently and 258 cycle count. I don't really use the phone to watch videos or for gaming so I normally get a whole days charge.

Do you just keep your phone constanly above a certain charge %? or not charge above 80%? etc

I wish i could. Just my normal usage and charging. I was actually disappointed in the numbers. I get an iPhone every year and I’ve never seen less than 100% at the time of trade in

15 PM

Health: 88%
Cycles: 384

Primarily charge nightly on my MagSafe duo and C cable when traveling. Honestly, my battery has always been ****, I think I got a defective unit Day 1, but Apple wouldn’t replace since the health was fine. Actually considering a 16 PM now bc of this. I only get 5 hrs SOT

Type of use is certainly a main factor to explain battery health over time, but there's also network quality. If you're in a area with bad wifi or LTE/5G, the phone will burn more energy trying to connect.

Today this 15PM got 1 year old and lets see if it lives for another year till the 17PM. Care+ will give me a new Battery as soon as it is at 79%.

iPhone 15pro. I barely use this phone to extremes like many users would. 😢

We must have the same dud battery. Will AppleCare swap it out? Australian consumer laws are weird, it's meant to be 24mths, but a loophole gives 12mths.

In my country it will it swap for free for the first year without any additional warranty and for 2 years if you have bought the care+ plan. The monthly paid care+ (which can go longer than 2 years) is not available we only have the 2 year plan for 229Eur.

I have managed to get a battery swap, actually via Express replacement, twice (once for 13PM and for 15PM) without hitting 80%. Here are my hints:
1) Have AppleCare+ - this is a necessity
2) Gather data that is useful and convincing (via the battery use screenshots (10 day screens are most useful) - use their own data against them. You basically need to show that you consistently cannot get through the day with your Phone (mine will die at 4:30 - 5:00pm at this point)
3) Explain that you said for AppleCare+ for the purposes of express replacement, and to avoid going into a store
4) Be willing to put up a full phone deposit
5) Be polite but persistent, never get angry, escalate to supervisor

Normally, somewhere in the process, someone will screw up, and Apple will make the offer to do something they typically don't to compensate for it. The majority of the above was done through chat or remote monitoring (let them look at my screen while I navigated the menus for them to see some of this data), but the last step is often a phone call

Alternatively, if you don't want to go through this, just crack the glass and pay the $99 for express replacement.

97% 236 cycles. I don’t limit the charge. I have mostly used a 20w charger but have recently been charging from a laptop which is 10w max apparently

I think the battery just hates me for no good reason. It's dropped 3-4% the past few months. And yes, I know am running a beta, but have to charge twice a day.

My launch day 15PM is still holding at 88%. I’m still charging between 1-2 times per day. I use a wireless CarPlay adapter in my vehicle, so I now do not use wired CarPlay anymore and that runs my battery down more. I do have a wireless charging pad, but I don’t use it.
