Since the 15 Pro Max is at 80% its not longer possible to wireless charge it. Was always using mag safe but now i need to use the usb C cable. Is this random or is Apple shuttung this function down at 80% battery health ?
Maybe random? Contact Apple and ask them…

My 15 Pro sometimes only charges to 92% with wireless charging and i have no limits. Mostly when it starts around 20% or so. Im currently at 86% bh

The battery cycle deteriorates easily in the iPhone. But if you save your battery and charge it when it's 20%, then the battery runs for a good period.

15 Pro owned since September 2023: Capacity 91% and Cycle Count 482
Regularly kept the battery charging limited to 80% or 85%. Also rarely depleted battery to zero. So I was kind of hoping for battery health to stay high a bit longer than this. If/when health drops to around 85%, I will take it in for a battery replacement.

Just hit 400 cycles on my 15 Pro Max, at 95% health…

using charging limit 80% and only slow 7,5w overnight charging lead to no obvious battery health improvements. I get around 5 hours of SOT, not great at all.

Battery life isn’t great Normal use. Doesn’t last a day and gets hot.
When can I get a warranty replacement if this update doesn’t help. 15 PM

15 Plus
313 Cycles
89%

Has dropped 5% in two months.
I’ve done every thing to preserve the battery since day one.

Used a 5w charger 90% of the time. Limited the charging below a 100% always. Rarely if ever go below 20%.

Seems like it was all a waste of time.

I think the whole 15 series is not that good in case of battery health preservation…
I have 285 cycles with 92% on my 15 PM

My iPhone Xʀ has practically lived in the upper 80-100% range throughout the 5.5 years I used it as a main iPhone, and I have 360 cycles with 89% health.

A better ratio, with over three times as much time, with the most inefficient percentage pattern for battery health, and I never limited it. I’ve also had far better than that before, with my 6s on iOS 9 giving me 400-something cycles with 92%.

I think it’s just dumb luck. Which is why I don’t limit my charge level with my 16 Plus, even though I keep devices for a long time.

15 Pro in use since July 2024. I use an 85% limit and usually end the day around 30%, possibly with an extra top off to 50% if I’m gonna be out longer than normal. It stays in standby all night connected to a 5w charger. During the day I use a 20w or MagSafe for top offs. Coconut battery shows a slightly higher cycle count and 101% health. But here’s the iOS report.

I'm curious - are the built-in functions enough to optimize charging? I have an iPhone 15 Pro, and some time ago I was given device against overcharging at work (this one). Trying to use it constantly - but will it really protect the battery? The phone is only two months old - it's hard to say from my side, maybe someone has experience?

I’ve gotten used to charging twice a day now. I’m a heavy user and haven’t changed my usage since the 15 series launched. At this point, I’m trying to see how far I can push this battery and if I can get it to under 80% by September.
I'm not a generally heavy user, especially given I bought a pro, but I have days where I'll charge 3/4 times.
Anyways, go for it. I did that with the SE3 that was replaced by my 15Pro. I didn't make it under 80 in time, but it has 500 cycles now. I played first person shooter mobile games at max graphics connected to AirPods while on a FaceTime call and charging for several hours at a time. It was fun but dang did it get hot.

That’s the fun part. Taxing the battery and yes the 15PM can get pretty hot in the process lol.
