If any of you are old enough to remember iPhone 6, that iPhone felt so light to me it felt like a fake display model. I loved that one!
It was also known to bend easily. A few weeks after purchasing my 6 Plus, I accidentally bumped the corner of a counter with my left hip and made direct contact with my iPhone. Not only did the screen crack, but the frame bent as well. The only iPhone that I have ever cracked to this day and I didn't even drop it. I got the screen replaced by Apple and the frame still had enough of a bend to it that it would wobble on a table. The iPhone 6 and 6S felt like prototypes compared to the 7, 8 and SE2 iPhones.

If you've never held Titanium, it's shockingly light and insanely strong. I'm excited to see this material make its way to iPhone. So ready for a much lighter iPhone Pro.
Wow, yeah, just looked it up:

Titanium: 4.51 g/cm^3
Steel: 7.75 to 8.05 g/cm^3
Titanium = 56% to 58% of Steel's density!

Now I understand the 10% total weight drop.

iPhone XS in Gold Appreciation post.

People always debate over what iPhone is the best designed. A common answer is the iPhone 5, but I believe it's the iPhone XS in Gold. It's simply stunning and is just so clean.

I’m so sorry to hear that! It makes complete sense as there’s always a balance. I loved the light weight, but as you pointed out, durability is much more important!

10% is definitely noticeable.
What you're saying is that if you had a phone in each pocket which is where it'll spend the vast majority of time for most you'd be able to tell which is 24 grams lighter? I'm saying no.
Or............What you're saying is that if you had a phone in your hand you'd notice a 24 gram weight reduction in day to day use?

The widely-rumored titanium frame on Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will make the devices about 10% lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro models, according to a report today from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

iPhone-XS-Max-Black-Background.jpeg

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max weigh 206 grams and 240 grams, respectively, according to Apple's tech specs for the devices. An approximate 10% weight reduction would result in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max weighing around 185 grams and 216 grams, respectively. This would make the iPhone 15 Pro the lightest Pro model since the iPhone XS, which weighs 177 grams. Likewise, the iPhone 15 Pro Max would be the lightest Max model since the iPhone XS Max, which weighed 208 grams.

Given that Gurman said the weight reduction will be "about" 10%, the exact figures remain to be seen. If the iPhone 15 Pro ends up being 188 grams or heavier, it would instead be the most lightweight Pro model since the iPhone 11 Pro. In any case, it appears that the upcoming Pro models will be the lightest in several generations of devices.

Pro model weights:
  • iPhone X: 174 grams
  • iPhone XS: 177 grams
  • iPhone 11 Pro: 188 grams
  • iPhone 12 Pro: 189 grams
  • iPhone 13 Pro: 203 grams
  • iPhone 14 Pro: 206 grams
  • iPhone 15 Pro: ~185 grams?
Pro Max model weights:
  • iPhone XS Max: 208 grams
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max: 226 grams
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max: 228 grams
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max: 238 grams
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max: 240 grams
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max: ~216 grams?

Sure, but people seem to forget it's only the case. With the battery, glass screen and other components I don't anticipate noticing a lot of difference. For me, Titanium is the least exciting thing about the new phones, and it will look much like Aluminium.
I have the titanium Apple Watch ultra. The titanium doesn’t look anything like the aluminum. There is a sheen to it… a glow that certainly looks more premium than aluminum. I’m sure apple will see to it that it looks premium.

In the phone’s defence, the physics of that accidental move is pretty much the perfect storm of physics and, even if you were moving slowly, the pointed corner combined with your momentum was likely providing a force of hundreds of pounds per square inch at that corner point. I wouldn’t recommend repeating it as a test with a sturdier iPhone, either! :(
