iPhone 15 Pro Max iPhone 15 Pro Max is here! First impressions and photos thread

Another year, another iPhone launch!

I rocked up at 8am this morning and picked up my iPhone 15 Pro Max at the Apple Store in Sydney Australia - Natural Titanium for my partner and Blue Titanium for myself.

There were separate queues for walk ins and pick up and they checked people’s timeslots and ID before they let you in the line. There was a massive big crowd but they let people into the store very quickly. Lots of employees ready to serve everyone.

First impressions:
  • LOVE the Blue Ti. It appears mostly navy. Very close to (but a shade or two lighter than) the Midnight M2 MBA.
  • Natural Ti looks much better in person than in photos / YouTube videos. It's got a slight golden hue and has a raw metal look to it. I don't have the AW Ultra anymore but I feel it would be a perfect match. It looks and feels very premium
  • The phone feels SO MUCH LIGHTER than the 14 PM. I know the weight is only 8-10% less but Apple has redistributed the weight and now it doesn't feel like a brick.
  • Rounded edges on the 15PM makes the phone feel easier to hold without a case with better grip. The edges don’t dig into your hands like the 14 PM did.
  • Action button is cool. It is responsive and you get a haptic feedback to tell you it’s active. The press is shorter than I thought but should still prevent accidental presses
  • Bezels are noticeably smaller than the 14 PM.
  • Belkin Ultra Glass 2 protector has no notch at the top, and runs to edge of the viewable display, stopping at the bezel (i.e. No concerns with “curve” at edges”
Setting it up now and will post more impressions soon.

Cases include Apple FineWoven in mulberry, Mujjo burgundy leather and Otterbox Figura case.

Strange to hear your (great) experience! I had an 8:45am check in at George St, they only had one queue when I arrived, weren't checking ID's and two members of staff just telling everyone to get in line despite having sold everything apart from reservation stock. I waited until 9:15am, soaked through in that downpour, and left.

The worst experience, honestly. Apple staff couldn't have given two hoots - must have easily been 80+ people waiting. They could've easily had two lines and people serving both sides but had everyone standing in the p*ssing rain, moving at a snails pace. I don't think an hour behind 45 minutes in the day is OK, they should be calling and telling people.

After seeing photos of the black Pro Max, I've cancelled the black Pro Max I was meant to have 90 minutes ago and reserved a Natural and White Pro Max at Broadway tomorrow.

How sturdy is that Otterbox?

Can you please post more pics of that Otterbox case and Natural Titanium :D

Thanks for sharing these! I ordered both of these colors to decide which one I want (will return the other one), and man, they both look good!

That Blue Titanium should come with it's own Apple Cloth! How is the weight? No 1 Reason I have not got a Pro Max for last few years is the ever increasing weight. Glad to see that have reversed that trend.

We’re case twins! I bought the Burgundy Mujjo as well. It should look lovely with NaturalTi!

The Otterbox Figura isn’t sturdy at all haha. But the colours are nice.

Both colors look nice. I went natural. On your pics natural looks awesome. Your review is better than these celebrity YouTubers. Sometimes it’s best to say a lot with less words. You sir nailed it. Thank you. Picking up my 15PM natural tomorrow. I noticed picture of 14PM with the 2 new 15PM…the new phones look overall smaller. Maybe is angle of picture but I like this. I believe overall size did shrink some but same screen size. Love that.

Just so I don’t misunderstand, are you saying it feels improved even with a case on, or there is no difference with a case on compared to the 12/13/14?

Great informative post overall, thank you. I’m surprised at the gold hue on the Natural Ti.
