A few other observations:
- I was worried about the silent icon appearing in the status bar but you can turn it off in settings
- There is NO haptic when you press the action button. Don't know how I felt it when I first pressed it. Maybe I got a notification at the same time?

Both look good — going with natural myself. Was it difficult to apply the Belkin glass?
Was the Apple Store offering the Belkin Screen protector install?
Yes the Apple Store I went to installed the Belkin screen protector for me.

But their machine is different from past years. The phone faces upwards now with the factory sticker and the employee had to quickly apply the protector to prevent dust going in.

In the past the phone was facing down and had less exposure to dust.

Is the blue a FP magnet like the MacBook Air?

Congratulations on your new phone! Mine won’t be shipped until next month. Could you answer a question for me? What version of iOS did it come with?

I’m concerned that if I allow my current phone to update, it will have a later version of iOS and I won’t be able to transfer my phone over due to the miss match.

iOS 17.0. It asked me to update to iOS 17.0.2 first before it would let me transfer data from old phone.

Another year, another iPhone launch!

I rocked up at 8am this morning and picked up my iPhone 15 Pro Max at the Apple Store in Sydney Australia - Natural Titanium for my partner and Blue Titanium for myself.

There were separate queues for walk ins and pick up and they checked people’s timeslots and ID before they let you in the line. There was a massive big crowd but they let people into the store very quickly. Lots of employees ready to serve everyone.

First impressions:
  • LOVE the Blue Ti. It appears mostly navy. Very close to (but a shade or two lighter than) the Midnight M2 MBA.
  • Natural Ti looks much better in person than in photos / YouTube videos. It's got a slight golden hue and has a raw metal look to it. I don't have the AW Ultra anymore but I feel it would be a perfect match. It looks and feels very premium
  • The phone feels SO MUCH LIGHTER than the 14 PM. I know the weight is only 8-10% less but Apple has redistributed the weight and now it doesn't feel like a brick. It is also visibly shorter and narrower (small difference in actual mm but you can see it straight away when put side by side).
  • Rounded edges on the 15PM makes the phone feel easier to hold without a case with better grip. The edges don’t dig into your hands like the 14 PM did.
  • Action button is cool. It is responsive and you get a haptic feedback to tell you it’s active. The press is shorter than I thought but should still prevent accidental presses
  • Bezels are noticeably smaller than the 14 PM.
  • Belkin Ultra Glass 2 protector has no notch at the top, and runs to edge of the viewable display, stopping at the bezel (i.e. No concerns with “curve” at edges”
Setting it up now and will post more impressions soon.

Pics below. Pic with three phones are 14PM Space Black, 15PM Blue Ti and 15PM Natural Ti.
Cases include Apple FineWoven in mulberry, Mujjo burgundy leather and Otterbox Figura case.

Bonus photos and video of the Apple Store in Sydney when it was about to open at 8am. Everyone was so excited!

Happy to take any questions!

That natural Titanium is seeeexxxxy..

There’s no haptic feedback? That’s quite a bummer!

I ended up going natural titanium because the blue titanium looked a little too dark for my tastes. Plus the titanium gave me TiBook G4 and Cube nostalgia, also reminded me of the gray you’d see on the old “welcome to macintosh” startup screen. Your photos with proper lighting make me second guess it though 😆

OMG I am super jelly. If only I could escape my office for couple of hours I would be in that line (I shop all my Apple products from that store). Instead I have to keep watching my calendar. 3 more weeks T.T

Thank you for this! That blue looks so much better than I expected. Based on your photos I’m so glad I went with natural, although I’m slapping a case on it anyway.

It’s coming up on 11pm here in Ohio and I’m in bed, although I will have a very hard time sleeping knowing I will be up bright and early to begin staring out my window for the UPS truck… I took some Benadryl to knock me out or else I wouldn’t be sleeping tonight 😅 enjoy that beautiful phone!
