Apples names get so confusing. The ultra name currently only applies to an Apple Watch designed for outdoor rugged activities. Will this be a diving iPhone? 😂
They’ll use the titanium frame as an excuse for saying it’s more rugged, perhaps adding additional water resistance, a better camera solution, etc. It doesn’t have to be exactly the same outdoor feature set of the Watch Ultra, because that’s what the Watch is for. The iPhone Ultra can be marketed in a slightly different direction.

One would think that they’d already hit Max price.
For many people they have which is why people buy older models, keep iPhones longer and buy the standard models instead. I expect the 15 Pro Max/Ultra to be pushing past the 2 grand barrier this year as Apple are less in-tune with the people who use their products these days.

Unless they are introducing a third model that is differentiated from Pro/Pro Max or maybe a 4TB model, I highly doubt even Apple would be crazy enough to increase the price by as much as $500 for more or less the same thing as a Pro Max.

A 14 Pro Max 1TB already costs £1749 ($2227 USD) now. The way prices have been increasing each year these last few years, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a £249 hike as last year they went up £149 from the previous year. It’s a pattern of inflating prices and for some time.

This is why Pro iPhones are less desired in certain markets.

I was mainly talking about prices in the U.S. (which is $1599 for the 1TB model) but I take your point about international prices.

Today I’ve seen a video with a theory I’ve thought before… That only the ultra iPhone will come in Titanium. If this ends up being true, I think I won’t be buying the Pro, as the weight of the Pro is currently too uncomfortable for me.

In this case, and if I find the A17 appealing enough, I will wait one more time year, for the regular iPhone 16, with the hope that it will come with stacked battery. The only reason I’m not buying this year’s iPhone 15 is the A16, I’m sorry but I don’t like that SoC, I’d rather get an A15 powered iPhone.

So if the rumors are true and they're increasing the price by $100, but also increasing the minimum storage of the Pro to 256GB, it's not so much of a "price increase" as it is just raising the point of entry, right? (For those who would get the 256GB anyway, the price is the same.)

(And that, my friends, is called rationalization.)

If that is true, they might as well just end the pro line since it is literally being neutered to nothing. Apple seems like they have no idea what they are doing with their convoluted phone lineup.

I would advise to experiment with a cheaper used Android phone alongside iPhone before buying the top of the line model. Quality in the Android OS unfortunately still is not there and the ecosystem is a mess compared to iOS.
Thank you for you're quote bud. after doing my research yesterday that's the plan i'm considering doing, also i have to mention that i own an ipad pro too so even when i try a cheaper android like you said and maie it my daily driver i will still have apple products on the side. As a long time apple consumer i started to get really upset specially with the iphone 14PM.

Yes it only hurts the ones who can live with 128 or less.

I’m just happy they give each iPhone a different unique identifier rather than have the confusion that exists with products like Apple TV.

Would you like wi-fi or wi-fi plus Ethernet? Are those the names? And if you have more than one Apple TV be sure to remember which generation of Apple TV 4K you have. It’s much more confusing than it has to be. Give me a year and a model. The rest I can figure out.
