Has anyone tried connecting an ultrawide monitor? Wonder what aspect ratio and resolution you would get.

DisplayPort is supported over USB-C. I have an older Samsung 4K monitor that supports 4K60 over a special-but-cheap USB-C to DisplayPort cable I bought 3-4 years ago. It works with my iPad mini 6, my recent MacBook Airs, and as of last weekend, the iPhone 15. HDMI is a trickier situation apparently because of the audio involved and the lack of robust support compared to DisplayPort. I also have a small USB-C hub that includes an HDMI port, maybe I'll try that tonight.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve owned the iPad Pro 11” 2018 and the iPad mini 6 and like you said over USB-C direct to my old LG monitor or via HP 120W TB4 hub for o HDMI or display port to a work monitor.

I’ll have to get a cable for my iPhone 15 Pro to connect over HDMI to my TV.

Still a bit annoyed that we HAVE to physically place our phones into landscape mode to present properly to the Tv aspect ratio.

Back in 2001 I connected a 7” ViewSonic LCD over VGA to a PowerBook 3400c which macOS 7.1 (I think) worked automatically and in proper aspect and full resolution to scale!! That was the VERY definition of “It Just Works” and “We Don’t Ship Junk” the hallmarks of Jobs’ Apple motto that took hold for me.

It took about 2 hours to charge my AirPods Max from 10% to 100% with my 15 Pro Max. Used about 30% of the battery.

🤣 Typical Apple. Force iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max users to buy a higher spec USB cable to get faster USB transfers speeds.

How is that good for the environment Apple claims they care so much about?
Your comment is numbered “25”. Didn’t you read any of the comments that preceded yours? 99% will not be doing massive data transfer and don’t need the much more expensive cable. Grow up.
