New user swapping from an S23 Ultra to an iPhone 16 Pro Max... after reading through all 312 pages I ordered the TineeOwl and Spigen Ultra Hybrid T to start.

I've been using androids for 10 years always with the Otterbox Defender cases which I love. When I saw the awful cutouts and the reviews saying the same thing, I decided not to go with ole reliable and try to find something new.

Depending on how the TineeOwl and Spigen do, I may also look to upgrade to the DBrand Ghost 2.0 with the teardown skin. I think it would look cool, prevent the rainbowing issues people have described, and seems to get good reviews otherwise.

Appreciate everyone's info on this forum.

Welcome! What made you switch over to apple?

Welcome! What made you switch over to apple?

I originally started with iPhone years ago, and swapped to Samsung when I tried some friend's phones. At that time... IIRC the Samsung had a bunch of features that iPhone didn't. USB-C charging, wireless charging, more customization, better cameras, battery life, better PC file management, fingerprint scanner, etc.

I upgrade my phone every 2 years, and when I was looking at the S25 Ultra release - it was pretty disappointing. It's the first release in a long time where I wasn't excited, and actually considered keeping my phone for another year.

I've been having issues with my phone not delivering texts to groups that have all iphone users (not sure if this is the cause, but it never happens in groupchats with only android users), and there are a few key things that make apple more interesting now.

The vast majority of my friends, family, and colleagues use iPhone so being able to airdrop, imessage, facetime, etc. are nice. I also had a vehicle stolen, and have been traveling more lately - which are good use cases for air tags which are superior to the android alternatives.

Even if the android has better cameras, processors, etc. - I found that I'm a much more basic user these days, and don't use the phone anywhere near capacity anyways. It all seems like iPhone and Samsung phones are closer together in terms of feature sets than they've ever been, so I don't think I'll lose too many things by swapping now. and iPhone always seems to have an edge on apps with the iOS store.

I think the main things I will miss about android are - fingerprint scanner (I hate face unlock/manual password), navigation bar (as opposed to swipes/gestures), dual apps, and my beloved otterbox with no cutouts.

Face unlock on iPhone is a totally different beast to android and works perfectly faster than any fingerprint scanner imo I think you will be pleasantly surprised 👍

Allow all that.

Saying Apple out loud sounds/feels much better than saying Samsung.

Thats it.

Also for those looking for the dbrand ghost 2.0, I don't know if the creators got paid or if both my cases are defective, but here's somethings that I noticed from the Ghost 2.0 (both original ghost 2.0 and replacement ghost 2.0 sent by dbrand)

  1. Even with the "supposedly" new anti-scratch layer, mine still scratches when putting the case on and off, no matter how clean I can get the phone to be with a microfibre, even going as far as brushing the dust particles off.
  2. The rainbowing effect mentioned earlier on both cases
  3. Camera control is pretty unresponsive and worse than any other cases.

Decide to post a pic of the Ryan London 16 Pro (since they asked me for a pic) prior to my return or ultimately selling on here.

Only influencers and reviewers are getting the best version of these cases. Common folks and consumers who pay for these cases aren’t that lucky.
Yeah see I don’t like that at all. I don’t know how true that is. And I’m thinking it’s not the case, but if it was, that would be really wrong.

I checked and saw that Amazon UK have it for next day delivery
*$&@ really, might cancel I go there instead.

Actually they don’t have what I’ve ordered.

Nope they do 🤬

Oh well, I paid a tenner less with free delivery so I think I’ve got the better deal.

These fake leather cases, in these colours have been on there for months but the versions with CC button
Are new
^Bought a black 16PM Ali Ex leather CC button one – thanks for link! ;-)
Ali Ex sellers have been running these colours for about two years now. I would be very surprised if this ended io being Apple.

After all, why would they say ‘leather case’ on the box when they’re not leather? The Ali X ones have that on
The pictures are Alliexpress, but the leak is not. He did the same with FineWoven. It was an Alliexpress copy, but ended up being a release from Apple. Mark it, Apple will be releasing a vegan leather case with the announcement of the SE.
Obviously Apple will not be doing leather ever again, so this would have to be vegan leather.
But again, I'd be highly surprised if they even do vegan leather ones either, as that'd almost be an admission of error in the FineWoven debacle.

I may be entirely wrong of course, but I'm betting this leaker guy is wrong this time.
