Yes, but even with say an iPhone 16 pro with MagSafe, if you put say a Ryan London leather case on the phone there is no MagSafe animation. That is only for Apple cases.
Am I misunderstanding or missing something. As far as I’m aware third party cases that have “MagSafe” do have the MagSafe animation. I’ve used several third party cases since MagSafe was introduced mainly ESR and Spigen and they’ve always shown the animation when attaching the phone to a wireless charging device. 🤔

Apple has no standard for calling anything "MagSafe." It only has a standard for calling cases (and other accessories) "Made for MagSafe" (and placing such objects in the MFi database).

So then a case can still be considered “made for MagSafe” without the phone having MagSafe. Still has functions of MagSafe. Or would you prefer they call it just a case with some magnets in the back?

Really? I don’t get it with any of my Ryan London cases, Spigen, or Benks.

All settled now.

the only difference i’m aware of is the apple cases show an animation when you put them on the phone. the animation shows the color of the case. not very exciting or a reason to get an apple case imo. the charge animation comes up on third party cases. i don’t know why you guys pulled me into this discussion lol, but the 16e i doubt will have any animation in any circumstances. remember there are many wireless chargers that aren’t magsafe.

I’ve heard of Benks iPhone cases before. Some YouTubers raved about them on their channels. They’re a bit like Pitaka, but they’re pretty good quality for regular cases. What are your favorite Benks cases? I like this one: https://www.benks.com/collections/i...magclap-mt-blanc-phone-case-for-iphone-15-pro
They don’t have a 16 pro version but this one is quite minimalist.

It looks great with the black silicone case. With a black titanium case, it would look hideous, but with desert titanium, it looks 🔥!

Those are the popular ones from Benks. They resemble the woven ones from Pitaka and are quite thin, making them MagSafe compatible. They do have a huge ring to protect the camera of your iPhone.
No offense, but you must be new to this thread. We’ve been talking about Pitaka and Benks cases here pretty much non-stop for months. 😊

I’m a lurker, as I’m an iPhone 15 Pro user. I sometimes come here for ideas on cases to collect and which one looks best. I got my blue tatty 15 Pro last month. I mostly stay on the 15 Pro and 15 series cases thread from the same OP as my home base. I also respect allies who have the same or similar iPhone as me. But if you have any other iPhone and need inspiration from the 16 pro users’ cases thread which always gets new posts more often than the 15 pro ones, you’re welcome here. Many third-party manufacturers even offer the same case for your iPhone.

Benks and Pitaka are 10/10 iPhone cases I’ve heard a lot from  YouTubers. They’re the ones who hate bulky otter boxes like me, and they prefer minimalist yet elegant cases that are MagSafe compatible.

Today marks a month since I got the 15 Pro. It was a late Christmas gift, but I had to upgrade from XR to 15 Pro just in time for my long-awaited internship trip back in January.

Please explain how the black silicone case would look “hideous” with the black iPhone?

I don’t know, it looks pretty hideous to me. 😎

I define hideous as any dark iPhone cases, such as black cases, on a black titanium iPhone instead of colors that make it stand out. A black Ryan London(RL) case would complement the black titanium, but it’s simply too dark and stealthy for it.

If you happen to leave your iPhone behind in a dark room, you’ll barely be able to see it.

This applies to any other dark iPhone variants, such as blue titanium, deep purple, and space black.

If you have a dark iPhone, I’ll give you a hint: get cases that are light colored, like orange, sharp reds, and so on. As a blue titanium iPhone user I get cases that have patterns that show off more like white flowers, mid to bright blues and the alpine green if you want muted colors but not too dark.
