I’m all for giving companies the benefit of the doubt. Caudabe however have not acted in good faith here. A simple “hey, we know you pre-ordered but we’re running a tad behind schedule’ would have worked wonders.

I think it's justified given how they have handled their 'pre orders'

Considering this annual thread is usually a Caudabe circlejerk, it’s good they finally feel some heat. They look at these threads for sure. They sell directly from their site and don’t sell on Amazon or in retail stores. No one outside this “hobby” knows what a Caudabe Sheath is. We are their main audience, and people here have been jocking their TPU cases like they were the end all be all. Y’all know who you are! 😝 In the end they are just really nice fitting TPU cases that finally got floating buttons this revision after years of just doing jack$hit and getting the praise from this forum. They got screwed by the camera control big time this year, but figured their status here would let them stay in high praise since coasting along with no design changes always worked. It was nice when they came out with the Synthesis and I got one when they first released with the 12, but not much as changed since. With that 17 camera bump coming up, gotta wonder how a TPU case is gonna keep a nice tight fit.

I absolutely would have never known that Caudabe existed were it not for this group/thread (in fact, I had it stuck in my head as "Caudable" for the longest). Despite the absolute s$*%show that was their preorder process, I love my Sheath and am forever grateful to y'all for turning me on to them...AND the Owl!

I’d call it disappointment more than hate. They’ve done better in the past (much better), so the nose dive in quality control and customer service is frustrating. Also, when a company uses terms like “perfection” in their marketing materials, they set a very high bar, which in my opinion Caudabe have not met in recent years. YMMV.

I will agree, their customer service was pretty good a few years ago. It's declined the past few years. I assume sales were terrible this round, they might have had to let go of some employees. This time, you guys weren't solving their "MagSafe ring is printing on my Sheath" by buying the three other colors as a remedy, so profits were probably down. 😉🫢 They were releasing new colors mid-season as usual and most of you guys weren't biting. Last year I ready to jump back on the Caudabe train with the new buttons....

Am I allowed to say I'm happy with Caudabe?

I have already posted about buying the cutout Sheath for a second time, and ultimately relegating it to a closet.

When the Sheath with camera button was announced, Caudabe offered me 20% off as a purchaser of the cut-out Sheath. I figured that, with the 15% VIP discount I had, made it a reasonable purchase. Well, it turned out they wouldn't let me stack discounts. Annoyed, I sent Liz a "why I won't upgrade to the new Sheath" letter, containing the exact same information as I previously posted here. In response, Liz offered, as the proverbial "one-time courtesy," a full refund on my almost-never-used, six-month-old Sheath.

Well, the new Sheath is now my daily driver. I love the feel, and I love the color (Celestial Blue).

I know it's on the heavy side - but I came from Otterbox Defenders and Commuters, so this is going lighter for me.

I understand and agree with the disappointment with how they handled pre-orders. They certainly could have, and should have, done better.

And, at the end of the day, these are just cell phone cases!

I 100% abstained this year. After returning a handful of their cases over the past two years due to one defect or another, combined with ever slower customer service, I lost interest. There are just too many of their competitors offering more compelling products at better prices through Amazon Prime, which is impossible for them to compete with direct.

Amazon promised me to refund the delivery charges but they decided to refund me the full amount as a gesture for me being such a nice customer.

So then which case are we ordering next lol.

I got mine for free as well 😂

Purely because I tried to cancel it an hour after ordering (glad I didn’t!) but I was unable to as it was already prepping for dispatch. They said to reject the delivery or get in touch when it was delivered.

I couldn’t reject it (work address and I didn’t see it arrive) so I spoke to them, just refunded me
