Yep the Frosty Flex is my go to case until the Aramid version drops. Don’t have to deal with the camera control nonsense. With the Max being even bigger this year, this case feels so good in the hand. Not for everyone, but for my needs, it’s top shelf

Does this case have a front lip?

TLDR: There are other cases with more sturdy front lip protection.

It's a good question, though, and deserves more than a yes/no.

I would say, yes the Benks ArmorAir case does have a front lip, although there are other cases where this lip is more pronounced.

When I hold the phone flat and level to my eyes, I spot the faintest lip running across the length and breadth
of the phone (approx 1mm)...but in a clever design touch, the lip is more upraised on the 4 corners (perhaps around 1.5mm)...which I guess is a good way to ensure functionality and reduce bulk.

I did watch a YT review where the tester noted that if he were to add a screen protector, the screen would then be level with the lip....although I think the lip on the corners would still be functional.

Native Union will be updating their (Re)Classic camera control button.
To be honest that’s not really very clear and doesn’t actually state they’re going to add a capacitive cover. I’ll reserve judgement until those revised cases are available and see what kind of revision they’ve done. I do like that case otherwise but won’t be getting it unless they add a capacitive cover. 🤔

Thanks very much for the detailed explanation! 👍🏼

Surely third parties will realize the need to adjust? I just am not sure I’m willing to buy any of their products as long as they have awkward cutouts. It seems like it would be very hard to use the camera capture with one hand with all of those.

Amazon extended the delivery time on the frost black Ultra Hybrid T for the third time so I cancelled the order. Also not that excited about the Lumen after a few days; it feels too plasticky/slimey so it’s going back. With so few options with a CC cover, it’s going to take something special to displace the Apple, so I’m done for now. Have fun!

I refuse to buy any cases that have a cutout. Of the handful of cases that currently have a cover for the camera control button the only one I like is the Spigen Ultra Hybrid T MagSafe which is the one I have. I also am not keen on buying several cases either and want to stick to just a couple. As I already have a clear case I’d like to get a solid colour one that has the cover, isn’t open at the bottom or made of leather and goes well with my White Titanium.

That does suck. I’m sorry to hear that. I was lucky enough to get the clear version with the white MagSafe ring on the Saturday the day after I got my phone which was release day. It does seem like it’s in short supply in all three variations. I’ve seen them available on the Spigen site but they charge more plus you have to pay for shipping. I got mine from Amazon so I paid a lot less and got free shipping.

Seeing all these pics of the flex makes me wish I ordered both. They need to hurry and ship out the aramid flex lol

A few pics of the Otterbox Lumen on my black 16PM. Initial impression is that it’s a nice case. Tight fit, buttons are good, cutouts are good, and the camera control cover is excellent.

It’s glossy, but has a sort of tacky feel, which some will like and others might not. I’m guessing fingerprints are going to be an issue, not sure about scratches.

The front lip is perhaps just slightly more prominent than the lip on the Apple Silicone while covering more of the bezel, so there’s less room for dust to collect, which is nice. It’s a very good fit with the Belkin UG.

My initial impression is that the Otterbox and Apple camera control covers are equally responsive. This case is slightly stiffer, so the shutter release takes slightly more pressure to activate (just slightly) which may be off-putting for some (works fine for me). Swiping is equally responsive, and because the cover is just slightly inset to the rim of the case, it’s actually easier to tell where your finger is on the button surface without looking (hunting for the control without looking is a minor issue for me with the Apple).

We’ll see how it goes over the next few days, but so far it seems pretty good.

I LOVED the way it looked with the Desert Ti... but the case is rough where the clear meets the black sides. Scratches against my hand every time I hold the phone. Became a deal breaker for me after a day.

Only thing I dislike about frosty is it hides the Apple logo. Had to make more stickers lol
still stuck between black red or titanium camera ring

Finally in the house …can’t try it out until tonight however as my phone had an issue and picking up a new whitey tonight from the Apple Store

Feels a lot more refined however over the boxy version last year

Curious how this is working out for you! Ordered the minimal Sunset version to try out as well.

No worries!

Pitaka MagEz has little lips (Benks lips are a little higher) on the sides and they actually recess in the frame of the phone on the top and bottom which gives it no lip at all in those areas.

The Benks at least has a small lip everywhere that there’s coverage. The Benks ArmorAir is the all around winner in my opinion if you compare it to Pitaka MagEZ.

Here are some photos of what I’m talking about with the Pitaka MagEZ
View attachment 2433702 View attachment 2433703

Also the Benks bottom is full coverage the Pitaka has an extra cutout along with the recessed lip around the charging port.

In difference in quality from Pitaka and Benks? At least that you can notice?

Is the consensus from most that the cutout on the Caudabe cases are not great? It seems like most people who I’ve read say they don’t mind it are mostly of the mind of ignoring the button.

This is my first year trying this case and im really liking it so far! I moved from the Pro to Pro Max so it’s nice keeping it as minimal as I can. I did order a rebel Air too to try that out if I need something extra since the price seems good

I have the Apple silicone ultramarine for my 16 PM. Put it on today and noticed a seam on the side in the middle. Very evident on the middle side of each case and faintly along the entire edge of the phone. It’s as if there was a front and back half fused together. Not a fan of that. Ordered another to see if it has the same issue. Never seen this before with their cases.

I think the cutout on the Sheath is fine. It allows access to the CC button and is slightly "ramped" at either end to accommodate swiping. It's also thick enough around the CC that I don't accidentally trigger it when grabbing/holding the phone. I can use the button easily, but it has to be a deliberate (as in, not accidental) motion.

If you just plain hate cutouts, it's probably going to be terrible for you no matter what. If you don't mind cutouts, it's a well designed one IMO.
