Nomad Stone sport case completely ruined by this dumb ass button. Literally all the functions are on the screen and just as intuitive, why do I need a button Apple? Sooo many great cases from last year are going to get ruined by this cutout.

Take this sport case...Nomad improved the back with this new matte feel with more grip and doesn't have that shiny, smudgy fingerprint problem anymore. Outstanding case with incredible buttons, but the camera cutout is a nightmare. Uncomfortable to hold the phone and a pain to press if you really wanted to us the button. It's definitely going back.

In other news, their new rocky point sport band with black hardware is top shelf and a keeper

Thanks for the honest review of the CC button cutout. Personally, I really like the CC, but I use my phone primarily as a camera, so probably different than most. These third-party case makers need to up their game quick, regardless of where people stand on the Camera Control concept more generally.

I got the nomad rugged case, and I imagine the button issue is even worse. The lip is larger so the button is even more recessed. It’s an absolute pain to use the button. I hope Nomad updates its lineup by the new year.

I’m not a fan of the apple silicone, but it’s the only option until third parties adapt.

That’s the beauty of these products. Some will enjoy it. Some will question the people who were involved in that meeting to include a button on the side of a touchscreen phone lol

Honestly debating returning the phone and sticking with my natty 15PM. Very underwhelming after 48 hours.

I know the CC has become a pain for 3rd party cases, but I think they will come around. They have to if they want to keep up and stay relevant. I don't think the CC is going anywhere in the near future, and honestly I think it was a proof of concept for Apple. I think it's the step for Apple to put a Touch ID sensor in a button that is captive in the future.

I know this phone might be a bit underwhelming coming from the 15PM, but when AI starts to be released I think you are gonna be glad you have the 16PM. Sure it will work on the 15 pros, but I believe it's gonna run so much better on the 16s. Don't want to regret it down the road you know?

I ordered a few cases from Amazon and ended up deciding to get a clear case for the first time. So I didn’t some research and found the OEM apple case is the only one that won’t yellow. Saw Bestbuy has them on sale plus I had some reward points so I ended up getting it for like $30. So far it’s really nice. Kind of slippery but over all feels well made. The camera control button works perfectly. Just like without a case. I can tell it’s going to be a pain to keep fingerprint free though.

I have been using the Supcase Unicorn with the capacitive button. I like the design of the case and the fact that it covers the entire phone.

Buttons are firm and have a nice feel. Not slotted, so again, keeping out the dust and dirt. In my opinion, the Photo button works well. To be honest, I didn’t try using the button before putting the case on, but it worked fine for me. If anything, having the button right now is almost a deterrence, as each time I pick up my phone, I hit the button. I need to see how that compares to one that has an opening - like the Benks that I also have or my ESR.

The openings are asymmetrical, which I hate. Make an effort on that like you did the photo button. It's small, but come on. It’s also style.

The magnets - holy crap! I always thought my Phone Rebel had the strongest, but these are insanely strong! Each time I take it off my car mount, it moves the bracket, which no other case has done.

The biggest detractor is the slippery sides. It’s a smooth TPU, but there is no grip. The sides are straight with no slight bulge to keep it slimmer. Even if a coating of silicon was on there, it might make it better, but for one who never drops his phone, it has slipped out of mine three times in three days.

One last point—the lanyard holes. They're just not for me on a case like this, and I really am unsure why so many brands are adding them. I do not see people adding lanyards to phones so often that these are called for.
Looking at same one, is this the best case currently that basically covers everything?

I have always been with Ringke but they dropped the ball this year with a cutout for the camera button.

I ordered a new Mous Limitless 6.0, as I believe in second chances. This one fits perfectly. Light, nice dark blue color. Clicky buttons. Happy with it.

Also having a Caudabe Synthesis in Grey under way. I returned the ZAGG Santa Cruz and Synchro Bands. So I will just have the Synthesis and the Limitless. More than enough. No more clear cases. :)

I got the Unicorn Beetle as well, and I frankly think their implementation of the capacitive button is pretty bad. It is nowhere near as responsive to touch as the button on the Apple Silicon case. I'm returning mine.

Yea, I quit clear cases years ago.

Yes I agree I prefer the black over the colored ones. Just looks cleaner in my opinion and more premium.

This is my first time with this case but from reviews I’ve seen they are very solid cases and don’t loosen over time or anything. A lot of buyers are return buyers for years which is great.

I’m loving this form factor, I’m not the type that needs a heavy duty protection case and prefer minimal.

So here’s the only two things I wish were a bit different, this year they decided to make the camera ring silver (it used to be black) I’d prefer black. Camera ring also feels very sharp not sure how previous years were, it doesn’t bother me but just something to know.

Also the Pitaka branding on the bottom is cool and all but I prefer minimal branding. So those are the two only things I’d change otherwise I love it.

So I ordered a Benks Armor Air which solves those two issues (Black camera ring and more minimal branding) it’s virtually the same case and cost me $15 less than the Pitaka with a 15% coupon on the Benks from TechnicallyTee .

Looking forward to receiving that and it’ll replace my Pitaka if it feels identical in quality.

Oh I had thought Pitaka was the only one with that type of "fiber" they use. Please give us an update when you get the Benks and compare the quality. Personally the silver camera surrounding on the Pitaka is what I want since it matches my white phone better (camera lens surroundings are silver as well).

I’ve mostly accepted that it’ll always be something with iPhone cases. When MagSafe was introduced a whole bunch of otherwise reputable third party companies were slow to implement strong magnets. I skipped the 15 but I heard companies didnt know what to do with the action button. And with the leather cases it almost seems like some companies switch their supplier every year.

I really wish I liked carbon fiber cases, because some of the Pitaka ones look amazing. Unfortunately, for me they've always been a nightmare with regards to fingerprints/oils, and it drives me insane. I find myself wanting to clean them 2-3x a day, which is a shame because otherwise they are like the perfect case for me.

Just rolled the dice with the Smartish Gripmunk. I'll leave some impressions after I get it tomorrow.

It's the only case besides the Apple silicone I will spend any $ on at this point. Seems we need to wait to see how companies end up dealing with this camera cutout controversy.

I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid T coming and I think that might be the best case out that has a CC cover. I will know better in the coming days once it arrives and can compare it to the Supcase. I have the Ringke Fusion-X coming tomorrow, but it will not have the CC cover. Outside of these... it is an Apple case or the Otterbox Lumen - which is not getting great reviews on looks and durability (the belief it won't take much punishment based on build quality)
