I should upgrade my 12 mini 256gb to a 13 mini 512gb before they become hard to find...
if you’re planning on buying new, I would recommend you buy the 13 Mini a few days (or a week) before the next iPhone comes out in september.

Reasons:

Either Apple stops selling the 13 Mini, so you win by buying it a week before

Or Apple keeps selling the 13 Mini and probably discounts it by $100 so you can then either ask Apple for a $100 refund or return and buy again at the discounted price.

to be fair we do not need a 6.9" screen iPhone if you want some in that's at lest 6.9" or higher get a iPad mini with a 8.3" screen but keep the iPhones screen size down to where you be able to used them now your starting to get up to the tablet size screens and oh wants to have a tablet size screen in there pocket

How does Apple measure screen sizes? Some Android phone makers measure diagonals from points that are actually outside the display because of the rounded corners. That is fraud.

Display sizes should be measured in square inches. They should just count screen estate that really exists. So rounded corners should be subtracted as well as cutouts for notches or dynamic ********.

This is my exact plan.

Stop with the size creep or create a smaller phone with Pro features!

Not all of us want a damn phablet and I hate that I have to put up with a larger phone just to get the latest features. The 6.1" is already large and heavy; any bigger and it won't be comfortable to use one-handed. Miss the iPhone X/11 Pro.
Unfortunately, Apple continues to cater to only the lower end of the market (i.e. people who can only afford one device) with these huge phones. At the higher end, consumers have an iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, 27" Studio display, and 75" OLEDs for consuming content. We don't do everything on our phone, and just want it to be a phone.

I'd love an iPhone 4 body with flagship specs. It would be a major engineering feat and very expensive. At about $1,500 - $2,000 I'd be all over it.

Awesome! I think they are gonna change the aspect ratio to 19:9 from the current 19.5:9, to still keep the width same.
How? The new aspect ratio will make it shorter with the same width.

Whatever happened to the curved unibody iPhone that Jony Ives was working on?????

Another rumour predicts future generations will get thinner so this should reduce the weight. I have the 14 Pro Max an it is getting too heavy for my shirt pocket and won’t fit some shirt pockets. Shirt makers should also be aware of this. Will be OK if the external height and width don’t increase and it gets thinner.

So many unfunny jokes in here about future iPhones, Young is never wrong about display stuff.

This is further proof the iPhone 15 is a stop gap mistake.

Most likely because they either ran out of time for what they wanted or they really don’t have any designers left and the decisions are being made by suits.

Apple has increased display sizes every 3 years since the 6 series.

Going into a fourth year with the same is more proof the 15 is a last minute fix, failed on captive buttons, same uncomfortable design, no camera improvements except for the Max, pointless “action” button that wasn’t meant to be.

6.2-6.4” is actually a lot better and still manageable, I also use a pixel 7 and it’s a great size.

Apple keeps making these bigger and bigger to the chagrin of many users like myself

I really wish that Apple would offer a smaller pro version iPhone - like the XS or 11 Pro form factor

The 14 Pro is bigger than the 13 Pro which was bigger than the 12 Pro which was bigger than the 11 Pro

If Apple is going to continue this trend, at least give users the option of the smaller, current size as well

What do you mean bigger? 14 Pro, 13 Pro, 12 Pro and 11 Pro share the same 6.1 inch display.

Actually, the 14 Pro, 13 Pro, and 12 Pro are all the same size. Yes, the 11 Pro was smaller.

About time. Most of the major Android players have already gone 6.8-inches a couple years ago.
I tried out the Pixel 7 Pro recently, and it confirmed something that I've been noting through marketing photos and review videos for the past few years: because of it's aspect ratio, the iPhone actually feels slightly bigger to me in actual use. I'm guessing the phone's extra width is the culprit; it's either straight-up wider than those other flagships, or the lack of height (again, back to the aspect ratio) makes it feel wider. Whatever the reason, I like it, and I'm glad to see them push forward in a similar fashion.

These are barely bigger. Slab phones have little innovation left.
I don't disagree, which is why you'll see me over in the foldable threads in the alternatives section, and I'm looking forward to that Pixel Fold tomorrow. But still, I've got to ask, if a bigger slab phone really that bad? This is just the Pro Max. If the rumors of the Ultra variant being something above this tier are true, that's going to be something that, to me at least, will feel bigger than the current slabships (my word for flagship + slab that I just came up with). The downsides to foldables are real, despite my bullish support of them; even Linus, a staunch supporter, talked about the micro-cracks his Fold 3 (2021) developed recently. So, I wouldn't necessarily mind considering a monster tablet-territory slab phone in place of a foldable, especially if they widen the aspect ratio a little bit more towards 16:9 for the Ultra. That might be close enough to a tablet-in-my-pocket for me.

Stop making the iPhones bigger without actually giving us extra space. Almost 20-years iPhone all we got is one extra row on the homescreen.
Probably the biggest downsides to a bigger iPhone forever at this point, so much so that I've seen people say that even iPadOS wouldn't be up to snuff for a foldable iPhone's internal screen.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models launching in 2024 will feature around 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes, respectively, according to oft-accurate display industry analyst Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants.

iPhone-16-Mock-Header-1.jpg

Young informed MacRumors that the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes are rounded up. In response to our news story, Young said he will reveal the actual sizes to two decimal places during his speech at the Display Week conference in Los Angeles on May 23. Young did not indicate if the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will also have larger displays.

The new display sizes would be the largest ever for the iPhone, as the device continues to get bigger. By comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are equipped with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively, and these sizes are not expected to change with the iPhone 15 Pro models launching later this year.

Young has a good track record with display-related information about future Apple products. In the past, he accurately revealed that ProMotion was coming to the iPhone 13 Pro and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, that the sixth-generation iPad mini would be equipped with a larger 8.3-inch display, and many other details.

They are finally making a cellular version of the iPad mini!!!

The 12 Pro, 13 Pro and 14 Pro all have identical screen sizes so would feel no different at all in your pocket/hand. I don’t understand how someone can publicly moan about something without even having the basic info correct?
