If they keep increasing these phone sizes without increasing my pocket sizes, there’s going to be a problem. At this rate, the next iPhone mini will be the size of the current 14.

oh ****, wanted to replace my 12P this year, but also want a slightly larger iPhone.
The greatest cliffhanger in world history. “You know the sizes, but you don’t know them by two decimal digits. Wait for my speech.” 🤣
Because the last time they released an iPhone mini because supposedly there was lots of interest, it bombed.
It is quite hard, considering the existing minis are already packed to the brim, so smaller battery and less effective heat dissipation. Add the third camera in and it will toast, literally.
If you really want Apple to listen, however, a much better place to express our mini love with a chance of them being at least kept as is, would be here:

If you keep on regularly posting your desire to see a fresh sub-6.1” iPhone there (I did!), it might actually happen.
Posting on these forums might get you some likes and fellow mini users sympathy, but will not motivate Apple much, who are guided solely by their sales numbers and street cred. Unfortunately for us, mini users, the street decided that bigger is better.

If you want it wider, buy an iPad mini. A 6.9" iPhone is virtually the same height as an iPad mini 5 (7.9"):

only hope is one day the se with adapt the mini form factor but rumors indicate 6.1 body

Unfortunately it’ll only be half as wide as an iPad mini used to be. (Okay, 60% actually.)
Yeah. I was thinking about upgrading from the 13PM to the 15 PM. But news of a slightly bigger screen is actually one of the biggest upgrades I personally want. That and make the island smaller, which I assume they will next year. If they can keep good battery life and with the 3nm chip keep it running cool, they'll have have a great release.
This year we get:
Periscope camera. I think that will be useful for a lot of people.
USBC. Going to make charging much easier. Fewer cables.
3nm chip better battery and runs cooler. That's pretty fantastic.

I personally feel it's worth waiting until next year. this year will be better than the past 4 years, but I think next year will be a beast.

Yeah, it’s not a huge difference, it amounts to a 6% larger area for the 6.9":

Hang on, Apple is discriminating against minorities! My brain is going into meltdown.
In that case they should go back to 16:9 though (and ditch the island/notch), because that would make it even larger at the same display area (same square inches). A 6.3" 16:9 display would have about the same area than the current 6.7", but would show 16:9 content 22% larger, as opposed to only 6% for the now rumored 6.9".

14 pro, 13 pro and 12 pro are all 6.1 inch. If the 15 pro is going to be 6.1 inch as well, then the 16 pro will be the first increase in size since the 12 pro.
I find the 5.8" of the iPhone X and XS to be the perfect size. It's sad we have crept past that on the none max versions.
6.3" for a none max pro model is just silly. Not everyone wants gargantuan phones but still want the best available specs. Surely Apple must know that?

All these early rumors point to a 13SS this year. Might hold onto my 12 PM yet another year.

This will drive an upgrade super-cycle if its true. Consumers love bigger displays because it makes them more productive.
