Mine is down from 100-99% with the screen on for two mins and being off the charger for about an hour.
It actually says SOT is 5 hours but that's because I had it plugged in overnight and using standby mode so that I could see the clock.
I'm wondering if having it in Standby mode affects it somehow.
Disappointed as my 15PM lasted longer than this after a year - and especially seeing some of the other users.

Mine seemed to be draining quicker than expected so I checked the usage. My flashlight has NOT been on for 13 hours!?!

Hello guys

Hi
Do you have also noticed that your 16 pro and max battery life isn't much different than the 15or 14 pro max?
my IPM16 have same battery ad IPM15.
the drain is same.
Do you have different life of your battery?

Tell the truth. You left it on in your pocket.
Hasn’t even been in my pocket yet! Also, I’m not the only person who has seen this (there’s another thread on here).

The good news: I followed some solution from a few years back and changed the Accessibility options and it seems to be working as it’s now down to 3% of my usage

lol I was just messing with you. The amount of people I see with lights on in your pocket would make your head spin.

My 13 pro max would last like 2 full days when I first got it. Even 3 years old it lasted one full day if I wasn't power using.
I got the 16 PM yesterday. I like it, but the battery seems ridiculous, I understand loading the first time does a heavy drain, I dont recall the 13 doing that.

Anyway, thanks for the info, I will charge to full (well 90%) and see what I get

Tnx for answer man it means a lot to me because i am on 15 pro max , 1TB , and considering to give 15 pro max to my wife , and take 16 pro max for me …..
But , that is only if SOT is at leats 2hrs better than this ons
Why don’t you buy and give the 16PM to the wife and you keep the 15PM? Let her do the testing 😂

Don't forget that when you first get your phone, it's still doing a lot of indexing in the background. You should wait another week before monitoring your battery use.

Definitely takes about a week to balance out. Same with Apple Watch. Use it as you regularly would, plop it on the charger as needed, and it'll all balance out. It has a physically larger battery, a more energy efficient processor , and iOS 18 has optimizations to improve battery vs iOS 17 as well.

I have the same high usage for the flashlight for some strange reasons. Can you tell me exactly what setting did you change?

My 16PM is at least as good as my past 15PM. Too early to tell if it is better but it sure is not worst! People tend to play with their new phones way more than they will 6 months from now and that all takes a toll on the battery!

I get nearly 1 days worth of battery life with some light/moderaete use lol. One point today I've stretched almost 28 hours and still on 5% from 100%.

I am in the same boat, I set up the phone Friday through decide to device transfer. I am losing battery on my 16 PM fairly fast, my 13PM handled better. The indexing should be done by now (nothing showing on battery app) and always on display is off. 🤷‍♀️

From the responses so far, it looks like the extrapolated max SoT is ~50% Apple’s ‘upto’ spec (33hrs vid playback), or ~16hrs max SoT on 100% batt. Seems about right/average for a typical user’s new phone on a stock config.

18.5 hours of on screen heavy use from 95% - 12% isn’t good?
Extrapolates to ~22hrs on 100 batt, or ~18.5hrs/0.83batt.

16 Pro max - 12 hours since 100% charge. 8 hours screen time, 1.5 hours idle @ 60% battery.
Extrapolates to ~20hrs, or ~8hrs/0.4batt.

However, this graph extrapolates to 14-16hrs SoT on a full batt. (~5hrs/0.35batt before plug-in and ~4hrs/0.25batt after plug-in).
