So if the 16 Pro Max does feature a super telephoto for better optical zoom does it remain at 5x? All of this is rumored of course but if many of these changes come to the 16 Pro Max/Ultra, that would prompt me to upgrade from my 15 Pro Max. I love the newer 5x zoom as far as distance I can get, but the quality goes to **** very quickly in less than optimal lighting.

I think it's obvious the capture buttons purpose is show everyone else you have the most recent & expensive iPhone. There are too many front & back camera configurations now that most people most people won't realize your iPhone is dated. They will only recognize that you bought the cheaper version.

Question esp since I never had the Samsung with 6.9". Is it really that much of a difference with the current size? I mean noticeable and will .2" make a difference in how we use the phone?

I'll hold onto my iPhone 15 Plus and will try out a Samsung Fold (only if it finally receives a wider outside screen) to try something new for fun
I really love Samsung’s hardware. I played with an S23 Ultra at my cell provider the other day and was really impressed with the build quality, S pen, and display. They also had the Fold and I was shocked with how bad the crease is unfolded. That would never fly with Apple which is likely why Apple isn’t doing foldables. That crease is as obvious as a cracked display. Really cool concept and I applaud Samsung for pushing the tech but I don’t think it’s ready for a premium product yet.

I've been on vacation last month and it was incredibly hard to take photos on my 14 Pro, in bright sun.
I guess there's quite a lot of room for improvement in that department IMHO.
I was recent in sunny Utah and had pretty bright camera screens outside while taking photos.

Portless but you might need to buy a wireless charger if you don't have one already? We're talking Apple here!

a "super telephoto" lens in the ProMax would only make sense if it's added to the existing 5x, so 4 lenses/cameras would be what I'd like to see ...

oooooh an iPhone 16 Ultra

*must resist... Must resist.... your iphone 15PM is just fine....

All of this power, capacity, and capability -- along with vastly increased pricing -- is going way past the needs of the average person. 99% of users make calls, text, and surf the net, perhaps play a game or two to bide the time.

Yet that one percent of users seem to push these things over the top.

(yes, even their lower-end phones are over-powered, so don't go there)

Did you wear sunglasses? That has happened to me, especially when the phone decided to dim the display in order to prevent overheating. A real nuisance when out in the dessert (Colorado actually😅).

Many many features were rumoured for the 15 pro also. However they did not materialise (in the 15 pro), like a brand new sensor for the camera with drastically better dynamic range for the hdr. I believe Apple maintains a pool of features and adds the minimum new features necessary to justify the new phone. Apple will not put all their pending innovation into one upcoming generation. They save up for the future.

I regularly take pictures at concerts with the 5x camera. They’re sharp but grainy with certain lighting, but that is par for the course. My DSLR is the same when I crank up the ISO. There’s only so much you can do with a tiny lens…

I would like an iPhone with fewer features that costs less as a result.

1) No weird experimental buttons
2) No weird camera bumps
3) No weird notch
4) No weirdly huge size that doesn't fit in a pocket
5) No weirdly overhyped wireless connectivity that doesn't work with anyone's devices anyway
I’ve got just the phone. And the best part, it already exists to fit your list. Introducing the iPhone SE 2022!

Counting the A17 and A18 as two features is kinda cheating. If I counted correctly, it’s 6 features for the regular 16, 11 for the Pro and 12 for the Pro Max, and then there’s the Ultra as it’s own separate feature.
