For those who celebrated the holiday, I hope you had a nice one!

Just chiming in to say I am now fully indoctrinated into the thin phone+thin case cult. I love this thing, especially with a super minimal case like the Pitaka. I really enjoy how the phone peeks through the case along the edges and how a glint of silver shows clearly around the screen. This combo has been so enjoyable to use while documenting the festivities the past few days. The camera has been great, battery life is not an issue, and handling such a light, minimal combo has been stellar. It’s difficult to imagine going back to a beefier phone and full-coverage case at this point. Happy camper here.

Obviously, no offense to anyone who loves their Pro/Pro Max and full coverage case. 😊

Haven’t given the Aulumu a try yet? It’s been on Amazon for two weeks, so a free return is an option now

So what is the consensus best case or cases for the iPhone 17 Pro Max if you're looking for a case offering good protection, nice feel in the hands and has a tight fit?

I know most people will recommend the Sheath, but I have never got on with the rough/sandpaper feel of the case. The dBrand Grip likewise.

I'll second the Paragon (precise).

Paragon. I believed it’s ranked 1st according to two of the top 3 case reviewers on YouTube, Brian and Tee, and second place on mobiletechehh.

No, I haven’t. Not a fan of their design language, so I haven’t felt tempted.
I get that. I'm not fan of the camera cover and "trying too hard techy" look either. The fit and feel of the case is what sells it for me with no sides at all and no sharp edges. I have two pitaka cases and they have that sharp edge feel that sometimes bothers me...more so on the 600D black one. I also have a Benks ArmorAir case and that one actually feels better than the Pitakas because of how they round off the edges. It also fits tighter, there's no play at all, while on one Pitaka, there is some mushy play going on the bottom corners. I assume Benks can get it that way because of the slits at each corner. However what kills the Benks for me is that sharp af camera ring they have on all their cases this gen.

It’s good to know that the fit and feel of the Aulumu are so good. It’s simple enough to order one from Amazon, maybe I’ll give it a try sometime.

The Lucid Blue Pitaka Edge I recently received is slightly more comfortable than my Moonrise, which is slightly more comfortable than my 600D. In general, the edges don’t bother me, but smoother is always better.

The first Pitaka I had this year was terrible, with a loose corner and metal to glass contact on the plateau. The replacement and the subsequent cases have all been good.

I’ve had bad luck with Benks. I’ve literally returned more of their cases with defects than I’ve kept, which is a shame because I like their designs. I didn’t order any this year due to their history of poor QC and the sharp camera ring you mentioned.

Thanks for the info…

What Paragon colour do you think goes best with the Silver 17 Pro Max?

I went with black Paragon with silver buttons. I like the pops of silver around the case that match the camera rings.

I have a Aulumu for my 17 Pro*. If you’re a fan of the side less cases, it is the ONE to have. fits very tight. Very solid case! I caught it on a little sale. Magnets super strong too and fits symmetrical around phone. As with Pitaka, Aulumu or etc though it goes in my “bump duty” pile. If you can rent one easily I’d recommend giving it a try.

why are there no good cases with kickstands the only one with vertical stand is spigen everyone else has wierd metal O rings or horizontal stands

OK, you and @illmatic41 convinced me to give it a try. It’ll be here tomorrow and it’s an easy return if it doesn’t work out. Thanks!
