Had enough of Caudabe now. Cancelled my 'open' Sheath order. Crazy that it's December and most are still waiting for these orders for a phone released two and a half months ago, especially when orders for the case opened even before the phone came out.

Regardless of how good the product is (and as we know there has definitely be a slip in quality control), these delays are just unacceptable and Caudabe's reputation must be at an all-time low now.
Seems like precise Pro shipping. I ordered Pro black precise late yesterday and it shipped today.

Yeah there's no significant delays anymore for precise cases.

But the shipping for the 'open' cases have been a joke. When orders first went live in mid-September the shipping window was "mid-October". That slipped to "early-November", then "mid/late November". Then it was "shipping week of 24th November", then it was "late-November/early-December".

Seems only just this week they're starting to ship a few out (I haven't had any notifications so I've cancelled mine after waiting six weeks), but if you placed an order today the shipping date is "by early January (15th)".

Just ridiculous, completely lost trust in them now.

I hope they've had enough of an impact from this that they seriously change their operations next September.

Done. Glad this version is flush at the sides and doesn't have flared out edges like the 16PM has.

Okay, back to the scheduled programing:

Something something Sheath...something thing Paragon...something something Synthesis...something late shipping, something rattling buttons, something sharp molding seam, etc.

Agree. Between the delays, the suggestion to file down sharp edges yourself, saying Apple’s own cases rattle, then saying that the buttons of the iPhones themselves rattle, I have lost some trust in the company.

That and the Reddit moderation…then they say “oh, we’re new to this Reddit thing”. Seems disingenuous. I’ve moved on from them.

I get that. It doesn't bother me as I always hold my phone by the sides. Even taking it out of my pocket. I'm used to smooth cases as its what I prefer and don't like textured cases at all. My last case was the Caudabe Lucid Clear on my 14pro. Zero texture and was perfect for 3 years.View attachment 2584316
That was my favorite clear case of all time. It never yellowed.

Looks good. Does it have a screen lip?

Barely. No screen protector, but if there was one, it would be higher than the lip. The flush sides were what I was looking for in a case. The Nomad wasn't flush and that annoyed me. Not too crazy about the camera cover, but it's not enough to dissuade me from the feel of the case. Too bad PhoneRebel didn't make a Flex for the Air, the Gen7 for it fits really tight as expected.

Yeah, a Flex for the Air seems like a natural fit. Probably figured they wouldn’t sell enough to cover the up front costs.

after seeing @Zensō photos of the moonrise pitaka i wanted to see if i’d like it. when i was looking on amazon i ran across the raptic aramid skin case and figured i’d try that first. i like the color. it feels good to touch. the problem and maybe it’s with all this type of cases, is the frame all around the phone isn’t uniform. it’s like warped on the top. it’s already back in the box to return. the difference is minimal but i notice it. it is so difficult for me to remove the phone from these minimal cases. i had to get help.

Wouldn’t Pitaka be better “quality”?

Just received my Sheath.
Bottom is aligned as it should, flash-mic is not so much... I can’t hear any button rattle. Overall very happy, the texture is “interesting” :) Thanks everyone for helping to make a right decision.
You’re either going to love the texture or hate it. I love it because it’s the same all over texture for good ALL around grip.

What flavor did you get? Precise or open?

I like the texture actually, although after some time with my leather case I can say that the leather is something else (in a good way) but might be not as grippy…
I’ve got black precise + silver buttons. Looks great with silver PM.

I have a gray precise with silver with Pro, should have my black precise this week.

BTW the heft of the case is quite noticeable, could be useful for self defense along with that brick texture :)
When I first handled the Sheath I hated it because of the weight and kept switching back to the Apple Silicone. Then one day I said “f it” just going to run it full throttle. Now it’s like nothing and feels light.

i guess. but i don’t want to order and return. i don’t like doing that. i’m going to wait a few days at least and think about it. the case should be even all around, right?
Yes, the fit should be consistent. You may have to play the case lottery to get a good fit with these thin aramid cases. The tolerances are more critical than they are with softer cases made from TPU or silicone.

The Beats Rugged grip is better than the Gen 7 imho. It gets less slippery over time and the dots really help. Just feels nice.
Great about Beats Rugged.

We know that the Gen 7 offers more protection than the Beats Rugged. What protection does the Beats Rugged not offer that the Gen 7 does?
