Thankfully I have no marks on my silver pro yet, but the case is going into the „retired“ box right away. What a shame, I really loved it.. already swapped it earlier today for the Beats Rugged before I saw the post.
I wonder how many other cases will turn out to be damaging to the coating in some way or another.
I installed a plateau cover today, and found the Spigen Rugged left no marks on mine either. But it lacks the gussets that the d('oh)Brand has.
Not as much detritus as I expected, either on the plateau or the buttons from the small gaps around the cameras and button slits, respectively.
Swapped the Spigen, which was an initial stopgap case, for a Nomad Modern Folio, my usual carry.
It is quite familiar coming from my XS' Rugged Folio, albeit with Ecco and not Horween leather this time. Will see how it ages. Frankly, I don't mind if it doesn't patina as quickly or as much. It does also lack the intoxicating smell of Chromexcel, but that dissipates, and I still prefer the tactile feel of even cheaper leather over plastic.
Otherwise, compared to the old Nomad this one has buttons that work(!), and compared to the Spigen, a camera control button that actually works. So that's what it should do! No more need to hammer any of the buttons with a metric ton of force to get them to act.
The current Nomad also has a different, flatter profile to the screen perimeter that flows better for swiping, especially with a screen protector in place. But it won't find fans among those who want better edge protection.
Now I just gotta find a good screen protector that isn't marked up by thousands of percent over what they truly cost.

The tactility is hard to beat, but I don’t love the feeling of juggling a raw egg all day.
Never tried a clear case, does anyone have a strong positive opinion about a clear case they love? I'd like to do some exploring out of my comfort zone lol.
Want to add one more case to the rotation and I’m trying to decide between the Synthesis, or the Phone Rebel Gen 7 for my silver pro… any input would be appreciated!

I have the DBrand Ghost, have you tried that one, and if so is the synthesis better?
No, never tried DBrand but I can tell that Frost Synthesis is one of the best cases!!!
Apologize if this has been addressed already, how is the fit, buttons, etc. I can't stand button movement/rattle or loose saggy fitting cases.

I’m still waiting for my Sheath to arrive. It arrived and cleared customs together with my Flolab case in France for some reason and both have not moved since then (Sunday for the Sheath, Tuesday for the Flolab). Maybe there‘s delays because of the snow… Still wonder why they are routed via France from China.
Edit: okay both just updated to ready for outbound. But still in France.

I personally don’t like clear case and don’t think you’re missing out. I get it though boredom causes one to venture out lol.
Dbrand ghost is nice but it’s fingerprint city with its crystal clear back and also you’ll see pieces of lint under the clear.
Synthesis with its frosted back mitigates those issues but it’s definitely not the slimmest feeling case it’s quite boxy but the Ghost definitely isn’t slim either.
Also I personally hate seeing the big old MagSafe circle on any clear case frosted or crystal clear.
I just had to hit you with the negatives because I’m sure you’ll hear plenty of positives from the clear case fans and you can make a prime decision with all the info gathered 😉
I’ve never been a fan. They always eventually get scratched up, and they also show the detritus that collects inside the case, which creates an additional maintenance task (now you’re cleaning the inside and outside of the case). I do like the look when they’re new and pristine.
I live in the UK. I have 3 orders from Caudabe and received them all within 3 days!
