@impakt1

What AT&T email address did you use?

I feel stupid that I can't seem to find one on their website

2 by default for just MMS without tethering, but every carrier will be different about this.

I have tried many different settings with my carrier.plist file but i can't get it to work. It's either i put the apn that enables date or either i put the apn that enables mms.. can't get both of them working at the same time. I can't find a way to put a specific apn for data and another one for MMS... even if i put in the carrier.plist file another dictionnary with the MMS apn, it only uses the first one.

Well, I got to send out two MMS messages (one was received) and never received any (including the ones from AT&T) and now neither work. Plus I can't connect to media net on any of my non-iPhone handsets. Argh!!

I have the feeling that until something official is done, if we want to keep MMS, we're going to have to keep re-enabling it. It seems like AT&T catches their 'mistake' and reapplies the MMS block on iPhone accounts.

My beta tester was just on the phone with AT&T and they told her that Apple just emailed them to stop enabling MMS on phones.

Just an update: ATT appears to have gotten another top-down email to C&D *ALL* MMS enabling, and they're bringing Apple support reps into calls if you hang around on hold long enough. I think the gig is up, kids. Here's some SS's for nostalgia's sake, in the event they revoke my temporary joy:

So does this mean my MMS will stop working tonight?

Still working fine for me.

I'm hoping it has more to do with enabling MMS on more accounts. Like I posted above, my beta tester was just speaking to them. She had gotten AT&T to provision her iPhone for MMS this morning but didn't switch to a non iPhone messaging package. Just a little bit ago she spoke with them and they told her that Apple had sent an email asking them to stop switching message plans on iPhone accounts. Then they transfered her to iPhone Support, who had no idea what to do. That guy then gave her the wrong number to iPhone Dev Support. Pretty hilarious if you ask me.

Teathering works, MMS Does not

Go to your phone in iTunes.
There you should see check for update.
Make sure you hold option+click check for update.
Then browse for the ATT_US.ipcc file.
Click open. It should start updating and take like 5 seconds.
Then turn the phone off.
Turn it back on.
Tethering and MMS should work if the settings are correct on AT&T's side.
Hope this helps.

Ok I have the teathering to work, but I do not see a selection for the MMS. THoughts?

I tried again tonight to get AT&T to switch the MMS on and was told that they had a meeting about it this morning and I would have to wait until "summer". She said "Nice try" and asked if there was anything else. I tried asking about the meeting but she wouldn't talk about it. I guess they will give it to us when they are ready...

Well it now appears that my MMS' are going out again. Haven't heard whether they have reached the people I sent them to yet... I still have yet to receive one though.

Mine started working again! I sent a couple last night and this morning I received a picture. The only problem was I woke up late because the damn phone was off?! That sucks now I can't rely on the alarm clock anymore.

Mine just started working again last night. I called yesterday had it provisioned for mms although it had already worked a few days before. When I got off the phone it didn't work. Power off. On. Airplane mode. It worked twice. :) but then stopped. :( last night before bed o was able to send one. And another two this morning. One to myself which was the first one I received. Hopefully it continues to work. :) will update if it stops. Can't wait to get a video. :)

Teathering Works, No MMS

Called yesterday and they provisioned, updated file, however can not get MMS to work.

Thought I'd throw my two cents in here. I called ATT this morning. I spoke with 3 different regular customer service reps that all said

"We are aware of the iPhone 3.0 Beta software, but at this time we are not supporting the software and we have no control over the MMS feature, you need to speak with Apple."

Which I thought was weird, so finally I asked to be upgraded to Tech Support to get an answer from them, who then repeated the exact same phrase word for word. After questioning the tech support person, it appears that the word is definitely out, and they told me on the phone that everything on their end is good and working for MMS and its actually something in Apple's software that isn't allowing MMS to go through, but she made it sound like they aren't even sure about MMS when the official 3.0 software is out.

If you've got MMS, hope it keeps working, it doesn't look like anyone else is going to get it any time soon :apple:

Even with the correct IPCC file you may still get blocked on the MMSC server by AT&T, this likely wont get removed for a while. Every time you re-activate with iTunes/AT&T it re-adds your account to the block.

To get around this block I've had luck using another phone, in this case an LG Shine, and putting my iPhone SIM in there. After making a few calls on the LG Shine, I goto this My MediaNet website to register my device. This also gives you a XXXYYYZZZZ@mms.att.net email address for your phone's MMS service.

Once this is done, and I wait another 10-15 minutes, I can send/receive MMS from the LG Shine. I then swap the SIM back to the iPhone and it's good to go with MMS.

still working here with the mediafire file and a call to ATT.

i will keep testing it though.

hope it stays

good luck to everyone that is having problems.

i am usually the one that cant get things like this to ever work.

Has anyone been able to activate it some what via at&t and have the MMS working between phone reboots?

If so what procedure did you use to activate it with at&t?
