It arrived today. As vertigo said, it was shipped in a thin packing envelope with virtually no protection. As a result, the areas by the power and volume cutouts were slightly indented. However, I was able to get the case on the phone just fine and the structure of the phone seems to keep the dented sections level with the rest of the case.

I agree with the other posters who have used this case. It definitely improves grip, but the seams around the edges are annoying. There is no lip, but the edge of the case is raised just a hair beyond the screen, so my fingers still hit the case when I swipe. It does look sleek and the transparent black one does make the back of the phone look like the dark grey it should have been (thanks Apple), so for under $5 I won't complain about its shortcomings. Given how thin this case is, it will provide no protection for anything other than scratches, so I wouldn't pay more than the $5 I did pay for it.

This will make a nice supplement to my leather case for when I want to show the form of the phone off.

You ordered the black one from the eBay seller? Would you post some photos with it on the phone of the back and maybe an angle at the front? I'm interested in how this looks.

Sure, here's a bunch of photos:

Again, this is the case from ebay, seller is planet wireless. The seams are noticeable, and on the top of the case you can see the seams create an oval shape on one side, I'm guessing they may have originally expected a power button to be at the top.

I have a 6 Plus btw, not a 6.

Thank you for the photos! I may have to order black. The frost is my favorite case so far, but I wouldn't mind another color choice.

By the way, mine doesn't have the oval on the seam. I wonder if that's only for the Plus case. I have a regular 6.

iPhone 6 - Caudabe Veil

I like the frost but I think the space grey is too close to silver so I like how the black makes the back more like the color space grey should have been.

Did you ever have a Slate iphone 5 or 5s? They were HORRIBLY prone to showing scratches. If you even looked at it wrong you would have a silver scratch showing through. That's why they made the back lighter on this model. I liked it darker too, but if it means fewer scratches, I'm all for it.

And yes, I had a case, but even a little dust inside the case resulted in scratches. :(

I never had the slate, I was on Androids for a while and returned to iOS with the 5S. I realize the darker colors were more prone to scratching, but space grey basically looks silver on the 6 series to my eyes. Hence this case. :)

Can you post the eBay link. I can't find a seller called planet wireless on eBay.

Thanks

I received my Caudabe Veil for my iPhone 6 Plus. It is basically the same exceptional fit and finish as the iPhone 6. It looks exactly the same but I'll post pictures anyways. Sorry for the bad pictures.

I like this case but not the fact that it is slimmer than the camera. I asked caudabe if they plan to do something about it and this is their answer:
It's entirely possible that we've noticed this issue and also possible that we have a solution.

EDIT: just noticed that this has already been confirmed, good to know.

yes, I'd like to have that coverage but not a biggie for me since the lens shouldn't scratch. I am waiting to see what they come up with. So far I've been very happy with their products and customer service so I might get it when it comes out as well to try.

I have this case and really like it. But for the price of it, I've been really disappointed with their quality. I've had to purchase 3 to get 1 good one. They've been helpful in hassle free returns, but I'd just rather get a quality product the first time. I feel like I'm paying $15 for a $1 case #

There was a 100% copy (it's unbranded) of the Veil on Amazon for $5. You can also find quite a few knockoffs on eBay for around $1-$2.

Could someone post pics of the Frost and/or Wisp on the Gold model? I'm trying to go for a sort of tri-tone look (black, white, and gold).

What kind of non-answer is that...

LOL, that sounds like PR speak that basically confirms that yes Caudabe is coming out with some variation of the Veil that will somehow protect the camera. Curious to know what they have in mind, but the response is hilarious. A few of my friends are PR professionals and it's totally funny hearing them try to spin certain issues.

They're coming out with a case that has the bottom covered. They emailed me stating they can't confirm nor deny that rumor but I should expect something like that in the near future.

I also received an email responses nose from them hinting at something even better than 360 coverage. My guess is if they are listening to what their customers want - the next case will be the "glove" and will be a thin case same material as the Veil but just a tad thicker to protect the camera lens and also will cover the bottom - just saying.....

this is what appears to be happening, starting to see thicker clones popup on alibaba then all sell out quickly. coming in at .7mm thick

Just bought these in a few different colors off ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261630195473?var=560504791776

looks the same just 1/15 of the price.

Did you receive them yet? I ordered a bunch similar previously for my iPhone 5 and most of them were bent and marred up. It took weeks to get them. I think I could use like 2 or 3 of them. If was as if my seller got all the first run trials and seconds from the main producer. I'm not saying that's what yours are or will be.

Definitely worth a shot to try them - what do you have to lose? The pricing is actually more in line with the cost to produce. I bet the material for thes thin cases doesn't cost 5 cents and I'm sure the labor isn't much more.

Please share with us the quality of your cases once you receive them.

I really, really hope this happens. I have a ton of cases but love the feel of the Veil the most. It doesn't feel rubbery, or plasticky, and adds a lot of grip vs. a naked phone without adding any thickness.

That exposed camera lens though.
