Moved from Spotify to Beats Music today. Spotify is just too slow on updates. Not just this one, waited a year for the iPad app to get up to date with essential features as "your music". They must be the slowest moving devs in all history... Someone should buy them a coffee machine

and what are you feelings on the switch ?. Usability, sound quality, and availability ?

Anyone know why some of the really popular apps aren't being optimized? I'm talking apps like eBay, Pandora, all the ESPN apps, NFL Mobile, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, etc. Its been two months. And by optimized, I'm don't mean completely redesigning the app, just update it so it isn't a scaled up iPhone 5 app.

Usability:
  • Harder to share songs amongst friends
  • No que song function
  • Playlists and finding new songs are pretty much the same, once you find them.
  • The Sentence works a lot better than spotify radio
  • Seems to adapt to your taste better than spotify

Sound quality:

No audiophile here. I imagine that it sounds a little better, but it's probably the same.

Availability:

I found a lot of songs I missed on Spotify, and yet to come up short compared to Spotify. I see less ****** cover songs, tradeoff would likely be fewer unknown artists. As I listen to very mainstream music, it's not something I would notice.

Conclusion:

I'm not sure it's a better music service right now, some kinks here and there. But if you're as fed up as I am with Spotify's laziness. It's not a hard choice. It's tedious to rebuild your library, so keep that in mind. That was by far the biggest obstacle for me.

Delivery Status (or now just Deliveries) has been updated. It includes a Notification Centre widget.

Love this app.
Unfortunately the notification widget is useless, unless I am doing something wrong.
It doesn't seem to sync when you check it.
For instance, I add a delivery on my iPad for a total of 2 pending, then, a 1/2 hour later, check notification center on my phone it deliveries is still showing one item.

I've actually switched from Spotify to Beats and then to Google Music. I must say my favorite of the 3 is Google Music, rarely have the crappy cover music(band) issue that I saw on spotify constantly. & the Curation on Google Music is on-point as well. I believe Google bought Songza so it's the same type of select from 3 playlist type of deal. Overall my favorite- and I believe right now they are doing 3 months trial for free.

The only problem with google music is there doesn't seem to be an ipad app!

Read somewhere that Spotify will get a big update in Jan/Feb 2015, which will include the iPhone 6/6+ optimisation with it. Not before that.

I'll just come out and say what many of us are thinking. It's a total joke how few major apps are optimized. I'm talking billion dollar franchises like all the major sports apps (ESPN, NFL Mobile), all the TV networks, and most major finance, lifestyle, and news apps. I don't care if I sound entitled. When you dole out $850+ on a phone, you expect certain things. I know optimizing is a process and it doesn't happen overnight, but enough of the excuses. It's fair to say every app developer has had a reasonable amount of time to optimize their app, or at the very least, issue an update so the app isn't merely a blown up iPhone 5 app. There is no excuse for this 2+ months after launch. Anyone who is reading this and is thinking about breaking their contract early for 6/6+, my advice to you is DON'T. Hopefully by next years iPhone launch, MOST apps will finally be optimized. I will never buy a 'non-s' model again for this reason. It has killed the experience of buying a new iPhone. I now regret spending big $$$ when I should have kept my 5s one more year. Apple really messed this up by not communicating with app developers much, much earlier.

How do we get the developer's attention to not be lazy and treat the 6+ as a plain iPhone but utilize its unique capabilities in the manner Apple has already shown?

Give them a 1-star review. Many people are now getting fed up with the lack of optimization and leaving bad reviews, me included.

----------

And how can Apple allow apps such as Pandora and Epocrates claim to be optimized for 6/6+ when they're clearly blown up iPhone 5 apps?
