Confirmed that turning off location services solves issue.

Background:
I've had the same issue--- intermittent unresponsive touch screen and sometimes false touch/random selection of things on screen. Happens ALL the time and was incredibly frustrated

Apple techs had no idea what was going on--- clear they were guessing

I initially thought it was a hardware issue (shaking sometimes resolved it). I switched the phone out at Apple Store (which involved restoring from backup) and upon inserting my old SIM card into new phone (at Apple Store) issue returned.

So I returned to switch out sim. Issue still going on.

Did 3 hard wipes of phone. Restored from cloud and ITunes. Issue persisted.

Today, turned off location services and no issue. No idea which app but a great relief.
Deleting Google maps off my phone seemed to fix it

Having the same issue as most. I have the iPhone 6 64gb. Screen always at random unresponsive. I would do the system reset, hard reset and it would work for a while before issue start again. I even removed my screen protector thinking maybe my screen is dirty. Nothing worked. It became frustrated last month so I went to the genius bar even though my warranty expired. Guy did the diagnostic test and said nothing is wrong with my phone, all i need to do is restore to new. I did restored to new but I think the unresponsive screen just got worst. Whenever I'm using the phone, screen would get unresponsive every 2-5 minutes or so. I would have to hard reset or wait couple seconds or minutes for it to work again. Contact Apple online again and they are saying based on what I explained, and all the methods I tried without success, it could be a hardware issue. Went to a nearby phone shop and she never heard of my phone issue either. Someone suggested i may need to change my phone screen. Today I was playing around my phone and found what might be a temporary solution:
Went into settings-General-Accessibility and turned on Touch Accommodation. Phone screen have not been unresponsive since. Fingers crossed it stays responsive.

Many users were having this issue and some of them have fixed it. Search for fix an unresponsive screen in iphon 6 in osxdaily.com website to resolve the issue.
There's also the whole lawsuit in relation to similar type of issues.

iPhone 6 Touch Screen Completely Unresponsive

iPhone 6, 64gb AT&T...was having problems with touch response initially. Now screen has gone completely unresponsive. Did a hard reset, and a restore. Neither resolved the problem.

Mine does the same, it works for 20 sec tops, then NEVER works again. Mabe weeks later. Factory reset & everything.
