Right, so why would you ever watch a movie on a 27" screen, if the cinemax is objectively better?

its not available near here. but i would prefer it.

----------

I just want them to remember that it was itunes support on windows that allowed the ipod to take off.

They seem to be forgetting that. Basically all of their corporate customers will be completely missing out on continuity

I'm sure they could make it work on icloud.com (similar to airdroid) , it's just a matter of desire.

yeah, they probably have a constant struggle between offering features to everyone and locking them up as a competitive advantage. they are more and more focused on the halo effect, and now with ibm, maybe they'll do smth drastic for corporate...

----------

But a cinemax or 27 inch screen is not mobile/portable. And some of these smartphone screens are visually better than the average 720p or 1080p TVs. I've watched plenty of movies on a smartphone, as long as the picture and sound is good, it only takes a few minutes before you forget you're viewing on such a small screen.

yeah, and if i had no money i wouldnt be watching movies anywhere, but thats not the point. the point is preference. do you like to watch movies on 5 inch screen more than on 27 inch, or 100ft?

Right, I would prefer it too. Now what if I don't have a 27" available, but only my 5" phone?

No, preference is not the point. The point is that you were disqualifying anyone who enjoys watching movies on 5" screens in general. You were then arguing that point in itself, regardless of preference between smaller and larger screens,as if it was an objective truth. Read your own writing:

also, im not disqualifying os, im disqualifying people who can stand watching movies on 5 inch screens. any kind of comments coming from them are irrelevant, considering their lack of ability to differentiate between utility and ux and willing to compromise to such extent.

...

to sum it up, if a person watches a movies on a 5 inch screen, theres no valuable or relevant input regarding ux from them. they disregarded ux as a whole, hence utilitarians. function is only 50% of the product, the other 50% is quality, design and ux. right? or i only need it to do what i need it to do? weird how no one has the same strategy towards women

My preference is difference given place, time, and mood.

For example: I enjoy watching Youtube vids on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone screen more than I do when I chromecast it to my 56 inch TV. Same goes with Kung-Fu flicks, documentaries, some comedies, and some B-movies.

But major production movies(like Avatar/Jurassic park) and most horror movies, I enjoy on my TV or cinema.

Yep, same here. I wouldn't waste big production films with stunning visuals on my phone. But I do enjoy watching a few so-so flicks, movies I've already seen or the odd TV-series I want to catch up on, when the TV is occupied at home or when I'm on a long haul flight or something. And being able to download a few torrents while on tour and had watched everything I'd brought along was a great bonus.

what if you dont have a phone?

it appears i have more drawing to do...
cinemax > 27inch >>> 5inch >>>>>>>>> 3,5 inch

are you getting it?

the point is, how low are you willing to go?

while we're at it (reasoning), read again your first two sentences...

objective truth, everyone prefers bigger, higher quality screens. our eyes are that way i guess. care to argue?

what i was really arguing is that people willing to watch an entire movie on a 5 inch screen, regardless of the circumstances, have a quality threshold so low that their opinion from ux point of view can be disregarded.

any further clarification needed?

Sure we all prefer them - when we have them around. But many are fine with a 5" screen when that's all they have access to. And for those of us who feel this way, the ability to download a movie torrent on our phone adds to the user experience. Which is what this discussion was about from the start.

Nope, thanks. I think now your personal opinion is clarified, most of us can then disregard it and move on. :)

This ******** again!

So let the guy have his freakin opinion. Maybe he needs some of the features the Note 4 has that the ip6 does not have. If you want to be the opinion Nazi on the forums you would probably have to weed out literally 99% of the posts in the entire forum, lol. :p

It is a fact.....

In my opinion, iOS seems to have better apps aesthetics wise and the horizontal view is pretty awesome as well. Plus the iPhones will work betetr with my Mac so, iOS will have more features for me(handoffs, continuity, iCloud etc)

In my opinion wasting one quarter of the screen space to cater for on screen navigation buttons in iphone is aesthetic suicide.

I really don't see how iOS has better apps... app markets are well supported on both iOS and android

Uh well yes....but aesthetics and iCloud syncing is a feature I really like. See the thing is that I spent over $400 in the App Store and I kinda don't wanna waste mah monies.

I don't have those Navi buttons in my galaxy phones. :) I am talking about apps in general. Most ios apps still have the top back/navigation buttons strip and bottom command buttons strip that take up lots of screen area.

I would not buy a laptop which could only display one window at a time or could not add more storage which is why I won't buy an iPhone or iPad even though the iPhone has got a decent sized screen at last.

I have bought all of the Galaxy Note Phablets since the start and currently own the Note 3 which I'm going to upgrade to the Note 4 as soon as it is released.

I don't mind the more complicated operating systems on the Note or laptops to support the extra features for it is worth it to me to have the extra features.

The really cool thing about Samsung multi-windows is that you can run differernt apps in the windows such as watching a movie whilst using email and not just multi-windows within a browser.

Mind giving me some examples? Safari has an auto-immersion mode built in. Most apps are shared between platforms and are similar in appearance. Otherwise, I'm not really seeing what you are referring to.
