So are some disappointed it didn't bench higher? I read some commenters saying the 820 would make the a9 look old
I'm sure they're not disappointed, since they knew the 820 was nothing revolutionary. Qualcomm, whether they like it or not, is still feeling the effect of the 64-bit A7, their lack of comeback with their 2014 chips, and their (mostly) overheating 810.

The 8890, on the other hand, should be ahead of the 820, at least in multi-core performance.

Since Samsung are supplying the chip / fabrication for the 820 I doubt they give a hoot if their new device has varying chips.in various regions. It's win win regardless.
That could be true, but the same can't be said about people who want the most powerful SoC in their phones.

Yes, Apple does do all those things (which I don't like, but that's how it goes when they make more profit from the bigger iPhone). But it can't be said that Samsung will make all variants as similar as possible. If they did, they wouldn't be going back to the 820 after going Exynos last year (and knowing the 8890 will destroy the 820 in performance).
I don't think Samsung will make their phones the same at all. If anything Samsung has shown that they will make a lot of phones models each tailored to a different geographical market.
I think they might have the 820 in the US market and the Exynos is overseas markets. So what? That's how it goes when you tailor your phone models to different markets. All companies do this......
Apple does this now....especially if rumors of a SMALLER phone is real. Will it have the same high end specs at the say the 6s+? So now will all iphone models have the same specs and internals?

Who cares? I have the Note 5 and the 6s+ and I switch between them on a regular basis. They both perform pretty much the same. If anything I would say the Note 5 is snappier and more responsive. Despite the fact that the a9 chip in the 6s+ is suppose to outperform it by quite a bit! So riddle me that batman.

You try so hard to post something negative about Samsung all the time. You admit you hate Samsung so why waste so much effort? Why not just enjoy your iphone?

And there you go, mind blown.

1. Samsung are helping in the development and fabrication of the 820, so there goes your point once again.

2. The reason they went all Exynos last year was due to the Snapdragon810's issues, we both know that, unless you're that ignorant?

I do enjoy my iPhone, and I wish it had as good a screen as the S6, so I don't post negative stuff about them all the time (and yes, I don't like them, but at least I'm willing to admit it, something that's not common around here).

Besides, if you don't like what I say, don't reply to my threads. Simple as that.

Wow, I'm so honored that I blew your mind.

And resorting to name-calling? That's a new low for you.

and you failed to answer the difficult questions......
You complain allot about Samsung and different internals for different phones. But Apple does the same thing. The camera in the 6s does not have OIS while the 6s+ does. There are always going to be differences in models..
Then if you don't like my replies.....put me on ignore :) see that works both ways.....

I know there's always gonna be differences in models, I'm just pointing out what I think will happen, not what should/shouldn't happen, but people come here and take everything the wrong way. If you don't think it's gonna happen, then say so, but don't be rude about it (not just you).

For the record, I hate that Apple did not bring OIS to the 6s. I think that was greedy of them. So I don't hate on just Samsung, I can hate on Apple as well.
