I'm sure they're not disappointed, since they knew the 820 was nothing revolutionary. Qualcomm, whether they like it or not, is still feeling the effect of the 64-bit A7, their lack of comeback with their 2014 chips, and their (mostly) overheating 810.So are some disappointed it didn't bench higher? I read some commenters saying the 820 would make the a9 look old
The 8890, on the other hand, should be ahead of the 820, at least in multi-core performance.

That could be true, but the same can't be said about people who want the most powerful SoC in their phones.Since Samsung are supplying the chip / fabrication for the 820 I doubt they give a hoot if their new device has varying chips.in various regions. It's win win regardless.
