I've preordered my last 5 iPhones. If you have a delivery date of 9/16 on your order, barring an unusual mishap (which can of course, happen, but it's very unlikely), you'll get it on that day. I think that you can rest easy that your iPhone will arrive on Friday.
Mine too! So much fun to watch. The last couple pre-orders I've done through ATT so I didn't get the tracking from China fun!

Are the iphones only being shipped through UPS or is FedEx also being used? I know for my 6 it was through fedex but I ordered through the apple store. I ordered the 7+ through the att app, does anyone know which carrier they use?
I've decided that I can't wait until 1PM for the UPS drop-off at my office. Set it for pick-up at 8:30 am at the UPS CC.
Weird. My iPhone 7 32GB Black T-Mobile is showing up in my support profile and has charged my credit card but I still can't find anything on UPS via track by reference. Either with my phone number or the order number without the last two digits.
iPhone 7 Plus 128 gb Gold. First time getting the plus size. I had the iphone 6 and wanted the bigger scree.
Mines on ups99 too, 128gb plus matte black, does anyone know if Apple sends shipped email once it reaches the states?
Awesome - you'll like it. Hard to go back from the plus, as I've found out lol. You'll definitely get it Friday because you got the gold color. Not as much demand for that one as the two black colors.

was your original delivery date thru apple listed as the 16th. Me an a friend have the 23 and the 27 as delivery dates. Im wondering if those are solid dates or placeholders?

Wow, I now feel like I am part of the party now. I ordered a Plus Jet Black 14 past midnight, but my status hasn't changed from expected delivery on Sept 26th and I am still processing. I have been reading all of your comments about tracking your phones progress and I was hear thinking I wasn't going to get it on release day.
I just tried the UPS reference number trick and it turns out its "On-time for the 16th and left Suzhou, China", although it doesn't have any information.

Rose gold + 128 went from preparing to ship back to processing.
Just for fun, here is my tracking information for my iPhone 6 two years ago. You can see that this is crazy, going back to previous locations and not moving for a while. I still got that iPhone a week earlier than Apple originally stated.

I reserved a 7 for the IUP, but thinking about switching to a 7 plus. Think there's any chance of them having extras in store when I go in Friday morning?
Same here, no info besides pending shipping. Rose gold 7 + 256eh, not really. mine's still 'preparing for shipment' and nothing in support profile and no tracking info when i use my order number or phone number (delivery date of 9/16). i think mine is already stateside so that's why but just wanted to mention that 'preparing for shipment' doesn't always mean it's entered into UPS system b/c it's def not the case for me.

And I've bought every iPhone since the 3GS and never not gotten it on launch day. A vast majority will receive it when promised.
