Don't worry. It's all just a mix up of terminology. Your phone will be delivered to your house/business/wherever you picked on Friday.
Pretty sure it's the phone. The best way to know is to look up by your order number (minus the last two digits), and not your phone number. Or compare the list of reference numbers to your iPhone and case orders to see which one it matches. But my phone is .5 lbs as well.
Yessir! This is my second time, last year was my first. Both times I've gotten the phones delivered on launch day. You have nothing to worry about, my friend.
I sure hope so. I did pre ordered right way on got the September 16th date. I still do not see it on the support site or on ups or fedex
Same here, been there since 9:45 PM 9/11/2016. A lot of the other ones who left were as well, so IDK if they're just waiting to load the planes to max capacity or what.
It looks like most flights are starting up today from China and Korea, so I wouldn't be surprised if you saw it on support or UPS later today.
It's also possible that your phone is already in the States, in which case, it may not show up on support or UPS for another day or two when it actually gets on the UPS trucks for transport to your region. Again, as I said, trust the date Apple gave you. You'll get it.
I'll be going to a local carrier store on Friday. I live in a smaller city, so I think I have a pretty good chance of getting it there on launch day instead of waiting on my 0ct,4th pre-order date.

Well, once you get your tracking number, or if you can use UPS My Choice to see the deliveries to the address (or use your order number minus the last two digits to look up via Reference Number), you'll be able to see which flight your phone is on.

I concur that the dates that Apple says are pretty reliable. I ordered two phones at about 3:15am Eastern Time, a gold 7 128gb and a silver 7 256gb. I see one phone (not sure which) in my support profile, but not the other. No tracking yet, but both say they will be delivered by 9/16. I don't worry about this kind of stuff anyway; I am sure I will get my phones on Friday, it's just fun to track, and follow along the conversation (I mostly just lurk here).
Think there is any use in searching FedEx by reference #? I haven't seen anyone mention finding their shipments on FedEx, but since I assume that my phones are already stateside, maybe they will split up the shipping between FedEx and UPS.

Apparently there's a category 5 hurricane south of Japan. Doesn't explain the route they're taking, but maybe some patchy storm systems up north? Can't find any radar maps lol

Got my email confirmation at 12:05 am pacific time (2:05 am for me in the midwest). So, pretty much right after the store opened lol.
Actually, that makes sense because the outer bands can be super brutal, so they probably took a route between the bands. I knew living in FL would be handy for something.
