After purchasing and thread participation from Best Buy and att I still think apple is the way to go. Those people were really ticked. I was told from both places apple fills their orders first to keep customer satisfaction high. I guess the proof will be on Friday. As I see it I have an iPhone 6 that I am good with so whenever I get my new one that works. I have a 16 gb which is way too small. I chose 128 which is going to be great. Says I get it 9/16 but I know nothing is guaranteed
Yes. Almost every year I do the same thing and I get my device on launch day.
Before the store goes down, I've got my order saved as a favorite and carrier information saved in the Apple Store app. With Apple Pay, I verify information is correct in both the app and iOS settings.
I thought about the iPhone Upgrade Program but figured that might complicate things. I want the ordering process to be as simple as possible.
I set an alarm for 5 minutes prior to preorder time to wake up. At preorder time I do the following:
Open Apple Store app, force close app if store still down, repeat.
When I finally make it in, favorites loads up and I spam Yes through everything until I get to payment, then I use Apple Pay. I'm usually back in bed within 10 minutes after preorder time.
NEVER GO THROUGH THE CARRIER! The one time I did with AT&T, my order details were all screwed up and I thought my phone would get delayed. With AT&T, I ordered within 5 minutes after preorder and didn't get confirmation until 8 hours later. Their system was all jacked up.
Always go through Apple if you can. I've also heard that Apple orders get "some" priority over carrier orders.
I know this is all useless now but I plan to do the exact same thing next year when my wife's iPhone is due for an upgrade.
