Per apple website now...

The iPhone Upgrade Program is the easiest way to get a new iPhone every year, and the security and protection of AppleCare+. You can purchase iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus with the iPhone Upgrade Program online or at an Apple Store. You cannot enroll in the program by calling Apple.

I was checking the prices and selected verizon, 1 time payment and the details said "unlocked".

I assume any iphone you pay in full it's unlocked.

Wrong. That's never been the case with Sprint. Even when you pay for the phone in full, Sprint keeps it locked for 60 days.

Yeah, I know all Verizon Iphones come unlocked from the get go but it might not support some of T-mobile's LTE bands.

I'll probably just end up getting the T-mobile version.

So Apple.com says you can enroll in the Apple Upgrade Program online. So does that mean the AUP can be done online at pre-order time and there is not a need for the reservation in store to go get it and sign up? I can do it online and shipped to my house? Still confused....

It's that time of year again so I put up the iPhone tracking post.

Once our orders move to processing and we should start seeing some movement to 'preparing for shipment' over the weekend since release date Sept 16th.

Once this happens we should be able to get details on your phone and let the tracking begin :)

Here are some notes to help track orders:

Apple will automatically add your phone with it's serial number in your support profile. You can see it here:
https://supportprofile.apple.com/

You can look up the week of manufacture and factory here: http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.htmlor
http://sndeep.info/en

Links: for tracking:

http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US
https://www.fedex.com/fedextrack/htm...&cntry_code=us

flight info:
http://flightaware.com/live/fleet/UPS
http://flightaware.com/live/iphone

Added a poll to keep us entertained until the tracking starts :)

excluded colors from poll...too many responses.
[doublepost=1473279507][/doublepost]Please add any links that where missed for tracking too.
[doublepost=1473280786][/doublepost]Reply with your colors in tread. To many combinations to put in Poll.

Per my conversation with Apple, they said we will not need to go into the store.

Awesome!! I'm going to be out of town on launch day so would be awesome to pre-order and be able to have phone shipped to my house :). Thank you!

Same here. I will be out of town on the 16th so I am going to have it shipped to my parents house. Hopefully they let us use a different shipping address.

Has anyone asked the question: how will we be able to charge our phones AND listen to music at the same time?

Do you seriously sit there with your phone plugged in and charging with headphones on? How often does this realistically happen. This seems so absurd to me.

I work at a desk. So yes, I do both. I currently am now since my battery was drained watching the presentation.

Any thoughts on wireless headphones? I see your point though. I just have never had this issue.

I think they're interesting for sure. I think I'd have to try them on before buying. The EarPods don't fit in my ears that well and since I work in a quiet environment there's a bit too much sound leak and it looks like the AirPods would fit just as well (or as poorly) as the EarPods. I use Sony in-ear noise cancelling headphones that fit great. I'd love to be able to use the AirPods, so I hope I'm able to try them somehow.

I'm confused too, because it says you need to show an ID. Not sure how you do that online.

I wonder if we can apply online for upgrade program. Looking online right now and it says we will have to make a reservation.

you had to go into the store last year to get the upgrade program. they do a credit check, etc.
