Someone please explain this to me..

My order is showing as preparing for shipment since Saturday with Sept 16 delivery. I can't see through UPS anything.. The iPhone does show under my profile BUT the charge has gone away from my credit card!!

What does it mean?

Do you live on the west coast?

That irks me too. I was waiting up for this, and both the site and app said "Come back soon. We have something exciting." Not sure how others got in before 12:13.[/QUOTEI

If it's anything like the other roll outs, the update would have propagated across the servers, some some people probably got in earlier than others.

That's always how it's been... Many people keep asking the same stupid question.. why don't they make these earlier so there's more supply.... two reasons:

- Electronics: it's a instant out game. Nobody says coming in 6 months anymore.. when technology is announced people want it now or almost now, and the more time passes between announcement and launch, the more stale it is... Why would Apple make phones for 3 months and stock pile them? That's unearned cash flow. Not smart.

- Software: iOS 10.. need I say more? The new phones require it, and until a week ago there wasn't even a release version available to install on the newly-manufactured phones. iOS always coincides with new phone releases as the new phones won't run on old phones... so even if they start production long in advance, they can only get so far until they need the software installed, tested, etc, and then can ship.

The release version of iOS 10 is actually 10.0.1, because the phones are coming with 10.0.0. The GM for RTM was out mid-late August. I suspect these phones are the ones you would get in the stores. But when you get your phone, check the iOS version. There was some stock piling, but I think you are mostly correct.

Hmm the pending charge on the credit card dropped. Order status is still processing and the delivery date is Sep 20-22.

Is that good or bad?
It's fine. The initial charge isn't actually a charge at all, but rather is a pending charge to determine whether or not the account has the funds to cover the purchase. It stays on for a day or so and then drops off once Apple has determined that your account is cool, and then the charge will reappear once the phone actually ships. It happens the same way every year; everything's OK with your order. :)

Got all excited for a split second because I got a ship notification from the Apple Store...but it was my case. Not like it makes an iota of difference anyway because I *know* my phone has shipped and is currently en route from Hong Kong to Anchorage, but still. ;)

Edit: Errrr, now it's in Taiwan. Hmm.

7 128gb Black, Ordered 12:25am

Mine is in Louisville, has been since early this AM. I'm in Ontario, Canada, so I'm expecting it to move tonight for a hub in Ontario.

If I recall on my last pre-order it came through the U.S. also.

This needs to be pinned. It didn't work for one of my devices, but it's still effective.

My iPhone has the same departure scan and on UPS my tracking still says on time. Are you tracking the plane route? I have no idea on how to do that.

Also, for anyone that does UPS Mychoice when should I change my delivery type? I want to have it stay at a local HUB but im nervous to change the delivery until the phone is in the United States. Should I not worry about that and just change the delivery type now?
Mine was on that flight and now saying in TW

It's flight UPS63. You can just google UPS63 and it shows you the real time stats. Or this link works too:
https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS63

If all that info is correct, then our phones should be in Anchourage at like 5PM EST :)

Which one did you get? I ordered the 7 Plus 128GB.

So my phone that left Hong Kong earlier actually went to Tai Wan instead of Anchorage, maybe a stop in between?

Yep! Me too! Looks like we are for sure on the same plane. Why in the HECK are we in Taiwan now? There are no flights from Taiwan to Anchorage according to flight aware either.

Mine says the same thing and I got the exact same phone. Mine actually shipped on the 11th. Search ups by your phone number or bill number in track by reference. I wouldn't be surprised if it shipped already like mine did. I think Apple won't update until tonight or tomorrow as a security thing because a bunch of iPhones are just chilling in a hub. Mine is in Louisville
Whew, now I'm relieved. I still can't find anything on UPS, I guess Apple is using a different courier for Scandinavia.

Yeah, I'm hoping maybe someone else with more FlightAware savvy than I have will have an idea what's up with it. I can't even find the flight that delivered them to Taiwan.
