From what I can tell, the apple order status isn't getting updated. I have a watch and iPhone that both still say "preparing for shipment" but I've tracked them with UPS all the way from China to Louisville.

Is yours more than one package? have a watch and a phone in the same situation; the package appears to be in Louisville, but Apple still says Preparing for Shipment. Both are in my Support Profile with serial #s. Mine is one package, weighing 1.2Kg, so I assume this means that both the phone and the watch are in the same package.

I ordered the IP7+ 128 matte black from apple.com and I got the confirmation email at 3:12 am EST on the ATT NEXT. I ordered from apple this year because two years ago ATT site had mine come late. My delivery dates are 10/4-10/10 and I haven't gotten an update on it since. No UPS, No CC, nada. I see they are trying to reallocate phones to supply the Apple Upgrade program, and I get annoyed at the thought that a phone that would have gone to me, might be reallocated to someone in the program. I realize now that a launch day delivery may not be in the cards, but either saturday or early next week, I can't help but hope. I swam with my IP6+ last month with one month left to pay on it before I owned it. I'm supremely sick of this amazon fire phone I'm using as a replacement until my new baby comes.
I totally agree. I just signed up for the IUP, but it seems like ATT Next people got the short end of the stick. The two orders were placed a minute apart and they were both for 7+ 128gb Matte Black yet theirs comes almost 10 days later. Seems strange...

welp, all those that are stuck in taiwan..i think this is our only way out: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS6061 ...so according to that, it will get to AK 2:03PM ET...I don't know..I don't think we are getting our phones on Friday, lol - I just can't see it getting to Louisville then distributed to all the other hubs in time. :(

UPS moves really fast... assuming we make that flight, we'll be fine. It's a little nerve-wracking, but we should still see delivery on Friday.

Looks like it gets to AK at 10:03am EDT assuming it's on time. In which case I think we might make it but agreed it will be tight. I think based on the flights from AK to Louisville I looked at earlier that would get us there around 12am and we might well get them.

If I'm not mistaken...those flight times have been updated in the past 2 hours. It appears its taking off sooner than I remember seeing an hour or two ago.

It gets there at 10:03am AKDT... which would be 2:03pm EDT.

Given its a 5.5 hour flight from Anchorage to KY, we still have plenty of time to get our phones. They'll be overnighted from KY to the destination hub by probably 4-6am your time, then loaded on the delivery truck. I think we're good!

That's not true. No charge has hit my card at all since ordering.
Strong statement calling somebody a flat liar. I guess you work for the Apple financial department. most likely you did not even notice it, but it happened . No order is processed without a pending charge PERIOD. END CONVERSATION.

Right mt bad. As I said though it does look like there are flights that would get us to Louisville by a bit after 12am Friday EDT which should allow enough time for delivery I think.

I do think ups would have changed the status to delayed if there was no chance at this point.

Pretty much my conclusion. I still wonder why we were not on UPS63 or UPS59 that left Hong Kong to west over mainland China and well after the "checkout" at Hong Kong. Someone screwed up? UPS computers messed by storm on China, who knows. I agree though not expecting my phone early now damn. Problem is it better be here early next week as I am going to be gone after midweek and I hate to deal with holds no one home to leave it with. But with other discussion and still having 9-16 date UPS thinks it will still work.

I ordered through the Apple website using Next. 7+ 256GB Black and am in the 27th-29th range. My order was completed at 12:20am. Sounds like Apple might have been giving first priority to IUP upgrades over Next. But on the other hand, I heard that there was a lot of problems with IUP. Who knows. It just shows that after almost 10 years of the iPhone, they can't get it right.

Well first off, I didn't call you a liar. Second of all, my wife is a VP for Union Bank Transaction Banking division. Thirdly, a pending charge takes 3-5 days to drop off depending on your financial institution. And number 4, I've been pre ordering iPhones since the 3 and I'm speaking from prior experience.

Also if you use the same card you have on file for your iTunes and Apple Pay, they don't need to check it.

Good luck with that inferiority complex you got goin there, champ.....

That is what I am hoping and we still get it. Friday would be better for me I assume they do not deliver on weekends so Monday would work for me as well I suppose. But hoping the non change means they will get it here. I wish I understood UPS logistics more LOL

Yeah and the route from Louiville to my home in central Illinois on Friday would still be workable I am hoping that is why no change in arrival on Friday late in day --not early LOL

Right. I think there were issues with people already IN the IUP program, but I think people who signed up for the first time (like myself) didn't have an issue (unless they wanted a Jet Black Plus, of course). Maybe next year they'll get it right...just kidding, that wont happen.

I live in Missouri myself, so relatively close to that hub too :)

Mine now shows Anchorage: In Transit: On Time
I'm betting it goes to Louisville tonight and to Ontario, Ca tomorrow so it can be out for delivery on Friday, but it's going to be a long day then. UPS always comes very late for us anyways. Unless they put more drivers on for the launch.

Just a note for all those trying to track which flights their phones may be on. There are limited UPS flights from continent to continent so for all these packages often times they may use the other services cargo planes as well to transport to the hubs like anchorage and then scan and load onto other smaller planes for distribution . If you do a search for UPS flights from there to Louisville or other large hubs like DFW or Florida there are several that go back and forth. At every point every single package has to be scanned and updated. The systems do not always update immediately either. Be patient, if your delivery date is the 16th it will get there.

Yeah I think it is workable. At least now we have a time for UPS61 which we know almost certainly is where our iphones from the Hong Kong holiday await transport. I suppose they now have to clean up airport a bit even though the hurricane hit south part of Island more. Maybe we will be lucky and they will even reschedule earlier but yes given the time from Anchorage to Louiville it still seems workable. ;-)
