So I went on flightaware.com and registered and looked up all flights leaving Louisville, and found the probable flight that my phone will be on UPS2950. It is leaving KY at 4:04 PM EDT est. and will arrive in Oakland at about 5:11 PDT est. Plenty of time to get to my local distribution hub in time for delivery tomorrow. below is screen shot of all flights leaving Louisville today.

i'm part of osaka crew and i'm east coast. scheduled for tomorrow still..i have a feeling they're delaying ones that aren't close to Louisville hub..
Yes that's what it's looking like unfortunately. Still a small chance they will be on time, but I think UPS is updating things ahead of time just in case. My Apple account status still says 9/16 though. So no official update from them yet.

I ordered a iPhone 7 + 256 GB Verizon phone. I live in a rural town in the Central Valley of California. The closest UPS CC that I can pick up my phone is about 40 mins away. If I schedule for a pick up at that CC it for some reason does not open up until 2:00 PM. I usually get UPS deliveries between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. Do I set it up to pick up at 2:00 then I have to drive another another 45 minutes home to set up my phone from my itunes backup on my computer. Is it worth all that driving to maybe get phone an hour or two earlier?

Only you can decide if it's worth it.

UPS does deliver high priority items on Saturday. iPhones surely fall into that category.

They are high priority for us but not necessarily Apple/UPS. Saturday delivery through UPS costs extra and I doubt Apple included that.

I just looked at scheduled departures from Louisville, and I didn't see any UPS flights to Dulles scheduled. Thought that's what they usually do, but I guess I'm misremembering.

UPS2196 to Philadelphia is scheduled to depart Louisville at 5:20 today, so hopefully it's on that if that's the route it's supposed to take!

I think there is only one a day, it arrives IAD at about 0600.

They should clear them from customs in Alaska and bring them down the coast instead of going all the way to Kentucky and back.

UPS won't do that for express shipments. I know, it's ridiculous. So much for "loving logistics." They can call it whatever method they'd like; just because their logistics method has a fancy name like "hub-and-spoke" doesn't mean it makes sense.

has anyone tracked that flight? where is it now? I can't track on flightaware at work... the page doesn't display

For people who preordered for in-store pickup tomorrow, has your order said anything but "Processing" this whole time?

Also, what's the deal if you miss the designated check in time? Is your phone still reserved?

I was charged the moment I placed my order.

Wait. I'm near Los Angeles and my phone is in Kentucky. Is it still possible it comes tomorrow? (That's the delivery date)

Yes that appears so. I am in east Central Illinois 100 miles west of Indianapolis. I still am on time for late tomorrow. It is only 233 miles from Louisville. Typically UPS from there is on truck or something since it is "so close" for me So far sill on at 9-16 late in day.

I really hope that's a BS post. If not... "I'll get there when I get there"? It's your kid dude. It's better to sit and wait with your wife in the hospital for the birth of your child than to sit and wait at home for a phone. And yes, I have children and they come before everything. Even a phone.

My wife going in for c section Friday. Too bad I have to wait for my phone. It's our 3rd kid so no biggie. I'll get there when I get there but rather have the new phone to take better pics of the little guy.

They are high priority for us but not necessarily Apple/UPS. Saturday delivery through UPS costs extra and I doubt Apple included that.

I wasn't speaking from a consumer standpoint, but from the business standpoint and the agreements that said business have in place with delivery companies to deliver product as quick as possible.

For example I recently ordered limited NIKEiD shoes, which were scheduled to be delivered on a Friday but they weren't and UPS automatically updated my delivery date to the following Monday, however I received that Saturday at no additional to me. That is something Nike handles, and I'm sure in the same case with Apple and getting their flagship product in the hands of their consumers Day 1 or the next possible day. Apple would pay that cost easy.

Either way I hope everyone who is scheduled for delivery tomorrow received theirs, and if for some reason they don't hopefully on Saturday or Monday.
