Can you switch your AT&T sim from a 6s into the 7 without dealing with AT&T to activate the 7? (And not get charged a fee)

I am a little pissed because AT&T does not subsidize the iPhones. They were the first carrier to have the iPhone and made millions off of it. Now I have to pay full price for the new phone. So I feel they deserve nothing from me. I am paying cash for my new iPhone 7 JB with no contract with AT&T or Apple. So a few years ago I took the sim out of my old phone and put it in the iPhone 4 and it worked fine but you had to renew the contract with AT&T. Now why does AT&T need to know if I have a new iPhone 7? I going to swap sims and not tell them and see what happens. What will I loose? So you should give it a try also.

That is lame. In Australia all phones are unlocked regardless of contract or not.

Well, it looks like tomorrow will be interesting. No delivery date push (yet..) and no movement. Either some dude at Foxconn is taking selfies with my phone or they just shipped it directly to me and then sat back and giggled knowing I would be checking the status a lot.

Mine is stuck on same broken ass plane i would guess by the fact it left at 10:25PM and returned at 11PM going to be hard to deliver it ontime to me in Nashville

That should not be a problem i have switched my 6plus sim to 6s without going through att. Also i have 5 and 5s and used my sim in all as far as I remember with no att communication.

I have ordered the same model in France and was quoted a 3-7 oct. delivery. The deliverery estimate hasn't moved.

Great! Thanks! I have cancelled my order as I was able to pick up an iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB in Gold (I really love the golden iPhone and I was torn when ordering between black and gold) through the Apple Store Reservations system. But I wish you the best of luck for an early delivery!

exactly, that's what happened to my status this afternoon and my original del date was Sept 23-27 so i'm pretty irritated that the 21st is DANGEROUSLY CLOSE and it looks like i won't get my phone early at all....meanwhile, hubby's phone is probably landing in louisville as i type this!

Lots of 7+ available in Manhattan Apple stores tonight. I'm in NorCal so I'm going to check to see what's available at 12am around here. When I do the math on the Verizon trade in and knowing that I intend to trade for a new iPhone next year the value of the trade in falls from $650 to $278.

My math -

$650 / 21 = $30.95 x 9 = $278.57

I subtract 3-months from the 24month payout and divide by 21 because Verizon says that payments will start 2-3 months into the new phone purchase which makes 3-months of payout before the new iPhone is released.

If my iPhone 6+ 128GB wasn't being flaky with the well documented loose chip issue I would just wait until next year and not upgrade this year. I find nothing terribly compelling about this phone other than it presumably works better than the 6+ does. My phone is day to day and I use it for my business so I prefer to purchase ASAP.

Ordered 7+ 128gb matte black ATT on 9/11. Expected delivery Oct. 5-11. i thought for sure my delivery date would move closer but absolutely NOTHING since i ordered.

Does anyone know if stores in SoCal have these in stock so I can pick it up and cancel this order?

Oooh my iPhone just landed in Louisville a few minutes ago and I just checked on flight radar, there's a UPS flight taking off towards mexico city in 2.5 hours, so maybe there's hope it will arrive tomorrow morning! :O
