I don't think that's an excuse. A big company like Apple should have the ability to cover that demand

That's just daily average. Launch weekend is much different. 4,333,333 per day launch weekend. That's a lot of movement. Think about how long it takes to get 40,000 people out of a stadium. The numbers are mind boggleing.

Problem is two fold, Apple contractors can't keep up and some can't deliver. I bet net week things really start to catch up.

They sell 205,479 average phones per day. How do you keep up with that demand?

With years of experience, layers of management, operations logistics, etc. at their disposal? A company that operates in multiple countries and have billions in cash? This isn't close to their first rodeo nor their first product. They simply underestimated demand and aren't filling orders chronologically. Moving at a steady pace because they know their consumer and have high demand. They're complacent. While there's competition, they see no "real" threat in their biggest market: NA.

They know people will wait weeks for their product then switch to a competitor and those who do are in very samll numbers.

Their suppliers and contractors can ramp up if they really wanted to. Apple is the one telling them to do so or not. Never waited this long for an iPhone. Only product similar to this launch was the Apple Watch.

Apple should have well prepared for the launch. Demand cannot be blamed for this shipping mess.

They did. Proof is in the pudding. If you have no 7+'s on launch day at any of your retail locations, what does that tell you?

Looking from their perspective, redundant design, no headphone jack, lackluster 6S sales (to them), 10 year anniversary next year, I can see somebody thinking it wouldn't sell well. Still no excuse for zero availability and not fulfilling preorders. Waiting for the day they grow complacent enough that they will have the rug swept from under their feet. History can repeat itself.

UPS takes four days to go from China to Korea. Instead of simply going directly from China to the US. Seems inefficient.

Is anyone here in the same UPS mess than a few European orders?

Got stuck a bit in China (National Day/Week, you know), and now endlessly stuck in Korea.
I'm supposed to get this phone today, but I feel UPS is slightly too optimistic… /s

My opinion has always been that they wanted to drum up buzz for stock holder purposes by purposefully not having enough supply to meet the demand on launch day.

It looks good when you can say demand has exceeded supply. Nevermind how it makes the customer feel...

I got exactly the same as yourself. Times are exactly the same and still says on track for delivery. UPS said that the UK depot got my import paper work through today but my phone has been delayed. Apple state anything up to the 10th for delivery.

Hope this helps!

Mine delivered yesterday at 1pm.

It's frigging beautiful.

Apple Care guy laughed when I told him the jet blacks actually exist - he said "I've never seen one but I've been told..."

He also said that at one point yesterday they had over 2000 calls in queue.

Thanks for the info! Glad your had some sort of info from UPS. All I could get from their support was "Keep tracking the shipment online for the most up to date information" and "Unfortunately, you'll have to continue tracking the package for updates as to when it will arrive in your country". Wow
Apple hasn't any info for me neither, except the original delivery date, which is in two days. I honestly don't think UPS could fly the phones from Korea to somewhere in Europe and deliver them in two days.

Ordered 9/19 (iPhone 7 Plus 128 Black AT&T). Phone shipped 10/4 and just got an updated arrival scan
"Incheon, Korea, Republic of 10/05/2016 7:18 P.M. Arrival Scan". My scheduled delivery is 10/6.

Exact same UPS track. (Ordered mine on 9/10 though.) Still don't see how it's going to get here by 10/6.

Something's wrong with UPS at the moment… My phone's been sitting in Incheon for 2 or 3 days now… And the my delivery date is… today. Oh well…

Wake up to see package still in Korea. Contacted UPS and right out the gate on live chat, they told me that Apple is "seeing an fluctuation of packages" which is causing a delay.

I'm going to see if my local Targets have the Jet Black 7+ from Verizon since they had some in stock now (seriously).
Screw Apple/UPS, they can have the phone now.

Im not sure. Im confused as to why it arrived in Incheon and then departed ZhengZhou.
Ditto. Again, I have zero confidence that it's hitting that 10/6 early scheduled delivery. I'm thinking 10/10 is going to be closer to reality.

I don't think Apple is the one to blame. Actually, they're fulfilling the orders faster now, which is what they should've been doing since 09-16…
The one who's in fault is UPS who's completely ****ing up the delivery. My phone's been in Korea since Oct.3, and my delivery date is today… And some European orders like mine that are in Korea went back to ZhengZhou or Hong Kong…
