Upgraded my phone yesterday and it is constantly freezing for 10-20 seconds at a time, mostly at the home screen. When I'm inside an app it kind of works for a bit longer, but every minute or so, I press something and have to wait 10-20 seconds before anything happens. Thought it was maybe the re-indexing but 24 hours later it was the same problem.

I tried to backup and restore the phone today (re-installing the backup) but same problem. I guess I'm now trying a clean install to see if it's something I have installed that ****s it up.

Am I the only one?? This is incredibly frustrating.

What model of phone? I ask only because it may help correlate with others who may have similar issues.

Sorry you've had a crappy experience. Do report back how a clean install goes and perhaps we can collectively take it from there.

128 GB black iPhone 7 Plus. Model MN482ZP/A.

Just did a clean install and it is the exact same problem. Useless!! Guess I'll have to figure out how to downgrade to iOS 10 so I have a working phone.

I’m not going to say you should revert or shouldn’t. It’s a personal decision for a personal device.

If you can take the trade-offs I personally think it’s worth trying a clean iOS 11 install. If you don’t want to then I’d say just try again after the next point release. Whatever weirdness hit you hard may well have been dealt with.

It's not even a trade off; a clean iOS 11 install did nothing, still have the same problems :(

Link with help on getting back to iOS 10 anyone?

Exact same phone and exact same problem here after upgrading to iOS 11 last night. Did you find a solution?

When you did a clean install, did you restore your data from an iTunes/ iCloud backup? if so you are just putting the problem back on. I myself have a 128gb 7 Plus and have no issues apart from some animation stutter

Did you upgrade from a beta version of 11, or from 10.3.3?

You are not. Went from 10.3.3 to 11.0
Tried all that. From Apple I was told to try the reset and install as new. They suspect something in my backup was corrupt and causing the issue.
Did that yesterday. Waiting for the phone to settle down as it is eating through battery like crazy. But, hasn't frozen yet either.

iPhone 7+ - major issues on update with freezes and app crashes. Had to factory reset as new.
Mini 4 LTE - no issues.
iPad Pro 12 v2 - Having issues with items jumping into place on the screen and occasional freezing of the object on screen when swiping left or right (ex: Photos or Springboard and a row of app icons jump up or down into position).

Hope this is all .....

There's enough stuttering in iOS 11 on my iPad Pro to keep my 7+ on iOS 10.

I'm dreading updating my 7+ to iOS 11 and I'm stuck on 10.3.1. Hopefully I either get the iPhone X or Apple releases iOS 11.1 and fixes all the bugs n crap and I keep my 7+ for a while.

Overall this is a very disappointing release. I feel lukewarm about the iPhone X and iOS 11 is a disappointment.

Wait a day and it will be fine. First day of new update your phone is still doing all kinds of stuff on the background.

I did wait 24 hours and also did a clean install (no content/apps/etc) and the problem was the same.

yeah I downgraded to 10.3.3, works like a charm.

How exactly did you perform a clean install?
Did you reinstall the back up right after from iTunes or iCloud?
I did

1) Upgrade over-air
2) Restore clean iOS 11 via iTunes and install backup
2) Restore clean iOS 11 via iTunes and initialize as new phone

All three gave me the same problem.

Might be time for an Apple Store visit if possible. I’ve heard a ton of issues with iOS 11 but it seems most are fixed with an iTunes restore and setting up as new, but you’ve already done that.
