My 7+ isn’t really laggy. Maybe a little. But what I am experiencing is that when on WiFi, downloading anything takes 2-3xs longer. My WiFi speeds are the same as before the update. But WOW is this taking forever to download anything.

Also. The little wheel spins near the WiFi symbol constantly. I’ve hard reset the phone and thought it solved the issue but did not.

Hopefully they fix most of this stuff next update and soon.

Battery life is definitely taken a hit. The only reason I did not go back to a Note when the 8 came out (from Note 7 to this) is because of the battery life. It’s amazing. But it is draining faster than my Note 7 did.

One very noticeable item; the animations are longer even under reduced motion.
The new animations when long pressing to get the Open/Open in new tab/etc... is crazy long.

Non sense as usual. I never said this for any iOS from 7 through 10. I was in the beta program for iOS 10 too and it was perfect within the beta cycle itself.

Before 7 I didn’t use iOS that much.

You may not have said it, but others did, and will. The same goes for MacOS releasea

Don’t do a OTA update do a clean installation and start fresh only do OTA on small updates

Sometimes fresh installs might be needed or can be good, for the most part for most OTA works fine.

I thought I was the only one... I’ve wanted to throw my phone on the wall so many times today. I’ve had to hard reset my phone (power+volume Down) 6 times during this day. I’m for the first time ever seriously thinking about switching to android and Samsung. I hate to be the guy to say it since I’ve never wanted to admit it before. But apple have gone down in quality so much.

How can I downgrade my phone? I thought restoring iCloud backup would do the trick but it didnt
Edit: ok so apparently you can't downgrade your phone according to Apple support...

Same phone same issues

Not a good upgrade for me

New issues today. WiFi password incorrect. Reboot sorted it. Small issue but in addition to everything else, lag, freezing, lockouts etc, highly annoying iOS release

Completely messed up my 6s , crashing apps, laggy, random pauses, make it unusable and this is after a cold hard rebuild. I am attempting again... else a roll back to 10.3.3 is coming!

Some things were too anoyying, man. Swiping to delete an alarm had this crazy shard red animation. I don't know if that's on purpose or a bug or what but damn. The 3D Touch stutter, the huge labels all over the place, the different alignments of said labels. The compass calibration which annoyed me by using the GPS every time I picked up my phone, in 11 they made it even worse, by having that proximity thing, the GPS arrow that's not filled in. I laughed when I saw that. Anyway I just went back to 10. I think apple designs the software for their new phone. It'll all probably be perfect for the X. Like on my iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10 was designed for it, so it'll run best on it. iOS 11 was designed for the X...I think it's just inherent that the best software for the 7 series is 10. Kind of bummed, because software upgrade day was always a blast for me. Guess we got lucky with the 6/s/7 being the same phone for the most part.

Yeah you can as long as Apple is still signing recent firmware, which they are.

Download iOS 10.3.3 Ipsw to computer and open iTunes and hold down Shift button while clicking Restore on iTunes. Go to where the ipsw downloaded to on pc and click on the ipsw and iTunes will restore to 10.3.3

Upgraded my phone yesterday and it is constantly freezing for 10-20 seconds at a time, mostly at the home screen. When I'm inside an app it kind of works for a bit longer, but every minute or so, I press something and have to wait 10-20 seconds before anything happens. Thought it was maybe the re-indexing but 24 hours later it was the same problem.

I tried to backup and restore the phone today (re-installing the backup) but same problem. I guess I'm now trying a clean install to see if it's something I have installed that ****s it up.

Am I the only one?? This is incredibly frustrating.
Exactly the same **** happening wih me! iPhone 7 plus black 128GB. I was running dev betas right from day 1 and the GM screwed it up! The phone freezes for 20-30 seconds frequently!
Happened today and i Pressed the on/off button quite a few times in frustration and kept the phone down. After a few seconds i realized the phone had dialled emergency services when it decided to recover from it's coma. Picked it up immediately and replied to the responder that it's an error and no emergency who promptly scolded me to stop my shenanigans as someone in real trouble wouldn't be able to get through! Apologised prosufely! It Felt so stupid..
Reading here that clean installs also not helping makes me even more mad!

i have a 7+ and have been seeing more freezes and complete lockups now. my screen would not turn on nor could i hard reset it. leaving alone for about 5 minutes and screen came back on. weird.

I had lock up and freeze issues with my 7+ 128GB Black AT&T.
After working with Apple I ended up resetting the phone as new and starting over from scratch - no loading of backups. I backed up my data non-iTunes and manually reloaded.
It is working pretty good now.
I am upset I had to go this route and I still have other “issues” but see these more as normal update pains.
My iPad Pro 12 G2 and Mini4 are both doing okay with OTA updates. It was just the iPhone.

I’d say last resort, but a reset as new and don’t load any backups might help for those seriously affected.

ME YMV

Btw - my battery life on all three device has dropped :(

Only problem is that I don't have any computer... only have an iPad. I'll go to the macstore tomorrow and see if they can do it for me

Battery isn't great for me either. iOS 11 feels pretty laggy honestly, on a 7 Plus that's pretty alarming... I tried to downgrade and got stuck on a boot loop so had to go back to iOS 11. Hopefully .0.1 wil fix these issues.
I came to iOS a year ago with iOS 10 (had an iPhone 3G a longtime ago, but that does't really count) and I gotta say that I am rather disappointed by iOS 11, it's one horribly loooking update that's got completely useless new animations that make the phone slow as sh**. Apple is famous for being picky when it comes to details and design and this update is the worst looking UI I basically ever got (Android included, and Android hasn't always been famous for being visually attractive). The bold font, the headers, iMessage turned into an Asian messaging app copycat etc. This is all f-ed for this year as they'll never change it but hopefully, they'll hear people's complaints and change that for next year... Meanwhile I'm stuck for a year with a sloppy update. I feel like I'm trying out a new beta ...

Basically summed up my feelings. Being an ardent Apple fan, I was surprised to find myself saying that Android wouldn't be this messed up. Some of the animations and sloppiness in the OS are just frustrating. Put your phone in DFU mode and install iOS 10, its what I did and I don't regret it one bit. For some reason now I can't change the song order of my playlists, but that's my only gripe. And wow Apple, to this day we can't sort the playlists alphabetically (oddly enough you can sort the playlists themselves, which is dumb to be able to when you can't sort the songs, as you may have 10 playlists but 200 songs in said playlist)? Anyway whatever. I want to like iOS 11, was looking forward to it, was actually excited, man. Hopefully they'll iron the heck out of it in the next update. But this iOS is something I'm surprised I'm saying about a product from Apple, and that's sloppy.

Just tried the DFU mode and iTunes doesn't allow me to update, need to restore or nothing, just tried to use the recovery mode and the update failed. I'm pretty sure I've the right version of iOS 10.3.3 for my phone, just can't seem to downgrade properly, I guess I'll be stuck with iOS 11 then which sucks big time... Thanks for the heads up anyway :)

Edit: Just figured out I need to restore my phone with iOS 10 or nothing, but I don't have a backup done under iOS 10 anymore so that'd get kinda messy...

Iphone 7 Plus 128GB unlocked from Apple - upgraded on air from 10.3.3 and i've had issues that drove me away from my Android/Samsung devices:
1. Screen freezes
2. Switching between apps is sluggish
3. Dialing out, the call begins and gets in progress but there is no sound, until i restart the phone and then dial again.
4. When trying to share a photo/video from Camera app, the sharing option no longer has imessage as one of the applications. I now have to go into imessage and browse for a given photo/video to share it, as opposed to selecting the photo/video from the Camera/Photo app and then selecting which application to share it through e.g. imessage, whatsapp, etc. etc.

I did all of it. Clean install (reset Iphone back to ios 11) and then used the backup I took yesterday "after installing" ios 11 on air.

This is ridiculous.

Im also having this problem on my iPhone 7 128GB.
1. Screen freezes and i cant do anything for 20-30seconds.
2. Call begins and gets in progress but there is no sound, until i restart the phone and then redial.
3. Spotify doesnt show up on the lock screen sheet anymore after this bug happens.
4. If i press volume up or down iOS doesnt show the volume animation that it usually does.
5. Alarm goes off but there is no sound. Only vibrations

Restarting the phone fix everything but then it happens again.

My daughters 5S started acting strangely on iOS11 the other night, touch ID wouldnt work so we tried entering the passcode but out touches weren't registering or were appearing much later, and we could barely get in to the phone. Once in we couldn't swipe between home screens and it would often misinterpret the swipe as a tap and an app would randomly open, then it would freeze and not respond to anything. hard reboot didn't resolve, and THEN I unplugged it from the charger and bam, back to normal. iOS11 has a LOT of issues.

so last night got fed up with the freezing and weird behavior since updating to the 11 version. i was able to install 10.3.3 but then find out my apple watch which is on watch version 4 wont work with anything except ios 11. i am very disappointed with apple right now. they control both the hardware and software and this is the best they can do? seriously?

Sadly, 11.0.1 did not resolve the issues. :( I'm now convinced this is a result of a third-party screen replacement.
