Snipped for clarity. I agree, this is where the ball was really dropped. Tmo just wasn't ready for a launch/preorder day inundation. Apple should have waited a week to release, but even so tmo wouldn't have been ready for it had they waited. I "completed" an order at 4:10am eastern time that started at 3:01am. It wasn't the fault of the poor woman I was on the phone with, it was the system going completely bananas... something that could/should have been avoided.

I suspected trouble with my order and called back a few hours later and wouldn't you know it, they'd lost it somewhere. This is just not how a functional company runs its' business.

+1 to both

I have experienced this first hand 2 years ago with iPhone 6 launch. I was with ATT earlier and finished my pre-order in time and had the right dates and all. But ATT took away $165 in credits from my account (unrelated to the pre-order) and I got really pissed. So I decided to switch to T-Mobile. But this was day after the pre-order and when I looked up online, T-Mobile wasn't offering launch day delivery anymore. I still was so mad with ATT that I decided to switch. I placed an order in store because I wanted to port the two lines as well. The store guy said I would get my phones a week or so later. I still got my phones on launch day! Many people on this forum who placed an order much earlier online didn't get their phones.

T-mobile is still living in 2010 with regards to their online infrastructure.

My 32 gb black 7 has been out for delivery with UPS since 5 am. No delivery yet. I'm getting antsy. What time do they deliver until?!

Agreed.. The Matte Black is slick.. The case I originally ordered (Spigen Neo Hybrid) ended up being just a tad to thick on the bottom to work with my ProClip mount, so I have the Spigen Thin-Fit on order now from Amazon.
Interestingly enough I ordered the same case before I read your comment. To be delivered on Sunday. What screen protector did you order, if you did? I'm noticing the iPhone 7 seems to gather quite the fingerprints. I usually get a tempered glass one.

My orders last year were placed in store and since I did it the Saturday of launch weekend I got my phone Tuesday. Pretty sure I pissed off someone else in my shoes last year. I'm really hoping that I'm not screwed over like that... Again, the thing that's the worst about this is there is no other option that provides the same value, so if I'm not happy I just have to suck it up cause the other 3 are far worse.

Signal strength:
iPhone 6s -102
iPhone 7 -92

Which means the signal is BETTER on the new iPhone 7!
How were you able to get signal strength? When I tried to use field test mode on the 7, it didnt work. Just says "Connecting..." at the bottom.

They're here!!

I place blame on Apple and T-mobile for the issues with the Plus not being available.

Apple: I'm reading that they didn't anticipate the black/jet black Plus to be as popular as it is, or the 7 would be this popular. Here is the fault with that argument: There are NO plus phones in black or jet black anywhere. Normal production would have produced some of them, but it is almost as if they didn't make ANY in time for the launch. Noting it was available for pre-order when the product is NOT available at launch is deceptive. They could have easily noted in the Keynote that the Black Matte and Jet Black versions would be available in October, and then if supply was available, send it earlier than the estimate. I don't know of anyone who would be upset getting it earlier than the shipping estimate, but they surely will be if it is late.

T-mobile: Not being able to handle the numbers. The system crashed at 12:15am on the 9th and many, many customers could not pre-order. Then promises were made and not kept about phones being available on launch when it was not confirmed they would have the product to satisfy those pre-orders. In my lowly opinion, when T-mobile noticed a problem with supply and demand, they should have released an email to those customers (or text) noting what is going on: let your customers know we initially were told we would receive them in time for the launch, but Apple has delayed delivery. In my opinion, transperancy is key, and while you will not please everyone, having CSRs saying different things to customers in the age of social media is not an effective communication policy. Just be honest, and upgrade your IT!

Stepping off soapbox.

Everyone should email john.legere@t-mobile.com demanding they upgrade their ordering system. It seems to get crazier every year with them.

That sucks. I work at 5pm and I'm not going until I get it. Everyone else in my house is gone for the weekend and there won't be anyone here to sign for it and I'm not leaving a note to have it left on the porch. Grrr
