FYI, in case anybody wants to know, I didn't know it but you can also get Premium Handset Protection (PHP) where your device is protected against any accidental damage, malfunction, loss, or theft.
PHP insurance can only be added either upon purchase or within 14 days from the date you have received the device.
PHP cost $10 a month.

Yes, they told me too about this insurance protection but I declined it.
I called them today to check up on my order and I spoke to some girl from the Philippines.
Their system is still very slow and overloaded and took over 30 minutes just to look up my order info.
I'd advise everyone to wait a few more days to call Tmobile unless they really have to call.

BREAKING: My credit card is being charged

I just found out after initiating chat with TMo (through the app) that the rep from last night did not set me up for EIP, which is required to get the full $649 credit amount for the trade in promo. My order had to be cancelled and re-submitted. Ugh! Good thing is shipping time for iPhone 7 256gb black is still shipping the 15th/16th. Since I got someone who speaks English as a first language this time, it went much more smoothly. I also got some better detail about the trade-in promo... hope you guys find it useful.

Here is how the iPhone 6/6S trade-in promo for the iPhone 7/7Plus works
:
  1. The promo credit requires EIP and you cannot pay full retail and only receive statement credits, which I would have preferred.
  2. There are two components to the credit for trade in promo: (a) value of phone; and (b) the amount to make the full credit $649.99, which is a plug. For me, phone value assigned is $165, so the plug is $484.99
  3. The value of your iPhone trade in is given as a full credit when your trade in is processed. For me, the iPhone 6 64gb had a value of $165 which will be given as a lump sum.
  4. Immediate payment when iPhone is shipped: Obviously, you pay the cost of whichever iPhone you choose that is over $649.99 plus tax, plus sales tax if applicable. Also, a $20 "upgrade fee" if you do this on the phone like I did. For me, I paid $219.99 ($200 premium for the 256gb 7, plus $20; no sales tax for shipping to Oregon).
  5. $649.99 is charged to your TMobile bill over 24 monthly installments (approx $27.08/month).
  6. The amount in 1(b) above is provided as a credit amortized over 24 months (approx $20.20).
  7. Your net credits over the entire 24 months is $649.99 (1a plus 1b above), which cancels out the $649.99 charged to you in 5 above.
  8. Installments are financed in-house by TMobile, and do not go through a bank like the Apple upgrade plan.
That's exactly what was explained to me as well. I think people are thinking they just pay (iPhone plus) $120, 220 or 320 and that's it. Thankfully a native English speaking customer service rep explained it to me as well.

Wow, the shipping dates have really slipped today on the website. I was looking and a lot of models are saying late October thru November now. Glad I got my order in yesterday. Makes me wonder how many they had for launch day though, seems like few people got the launch dates for shipping.

T-mobile cancelled my EIP even though i signed it. I realized Jett Black was different then black. they cancelled it with no issues and created a new order.
So after my JOD fiasco (see my earlier post), I had ordered an iPhone 7 128 Jet Black (glossy black), finally got a ship date of sometime in November, last night I decided to try what you did. After looking at the estimated ship times I went with the:

• iPhone 7 128 Black (Matte black), and now have a ship time of:
• 9/15-9/16!!
:D

I think I'll still like the matte black over the current space gray, and, since I'm on JOD, when they catch up to demand with the Jet Black (glossy black), I may actually try the iPhone 7+, just really want it for the camera and a couple other minor reasons.

I'm on Jump! On Demand, which makes the phone about $60 cheaper than retail, I believe, but even then there shouldn't be a $300 gap between our two.

I think with JoD your residual cost at the end of the lease is not included, just the lease amount, that would explain most of the difference.

I think mine is with tax and everything
I just talked it over with T-Mobile. My downpayment + 18 monthly payments ($504 total) + $216 buyout at the end adds up to the retail price of $869.99. Plus 8% tax = $939.59. I guess my initial math was off. haha
