I'm still chuckling at this thread, and all the people that are "too through" with T-Mobile - despite the fact the their estimated shipping window hasn't been exceeded, and no one is charged until shipping is imminent. Thanks for the week or so of entertainment - and ammo for every comedian, blogger, and social commentator poking fun at today's societal whining and sense of entitlement.

In other news, I'm rooting for Kylee.

For anybody that has any questions on the "iPhone On Us" promotion I'll be able to help. I have gone through all the steps and officially have everything set up! My iPhone 6+ is gone and I now have a free iPhone 7 :)

Awesome, thanks! I have a couple of questions.

1. Did your order online and did the trade-in at the time of your order?
2. Did you drop your phone off at the T-Mo store or mailed it back with the shipping label you received?

The mistake T-Mobile made was promising all of us that we would have our phones on launch day. So being promised that then a day later being thrown this random date range with no explanation and no updates, yeah that is something to be frustrated about. Now, if T-Mobile had told us on the day of pre-order about our date ranges, then fine. But I was legibly promised by the rep in store that even the computer said I would be getting it the 16th. Hence, this thread lol...

Yup but the package does not require a signature. Unless it's bought directly from Apple. (Not sure if Apple thing is still valid). But on Apple's site, there used to be a pre-authorization form that you could sign to let UPS/FedEx leave your iPhone. But ATT and T-Mobile both didn't require any signature based on my last 3 pre-orders.
On the UPS app (and maybe site?) you can specify if you want the driver to leave your package in a particular location on your property. That's about it, and who knows if they always/ever honor those requests. It does seem odd that a signature isn't required for such expensive merchandise; add to that the quite conspicuous "T-Mobile" box and you have an invitation for theft.
I'm fortunate to live on a military installation, and our homes have HD surveillance video.

2. Did you drop your phone off at the T-Mo store or mailed it back with the shipping label you received?

1. I did order online. Pre order 9/9 right at midnight. At the point of pre ordering, there was zero mention of trading in on the system. I went through the pre order process like a 'regular' customer.
2. I mailed the phone back to T mobile. I did NOT go to a store. The box I used was the black/pink T Mobile box that my iPhone 7 came shipped in. Inside the box when you get your 7 will be a shipping label. DO NOT use that label. You have to call in and talk to a CSR and they will process the trade in for free iPhone 7. There's a special department that handles this specific promotion. They will take your trade in information and in 24 hours insert a NEW shipping label/receipt on your T Mobile account. I accessed this label and printed it by logging into my T Mobile account on my desktop PC.

Hopefully that helps. Ask me any other questions you might have. This specific promotion was driving me crazy throughout the pre order/shipping process of my new iPhone 7. I'm glad this transaction is over!

So I had written them a letter to the executive office I believe 3 days ago about the first come first serve thing t-mobile claims and how I was seeing contradictory patterns to that claim... and to my surprise, I just got a call from the "office of the President" asking me if I still had any concerns etc.. I told him he called at a convenient time because my phone is being shipped and I'm not as angry anymore but I demanded he ensure that whoever still hasn't been charged to do it in an orderly "first come first serve" basis as they claim. He "ensured" me that is how it will happen. He also said that since I was charged early afternoon yesterday that, according to previous patterns, I would have my phone at noon on Monday (I always get UPS shipments around noon anyway).
So peeps who got charged yesterday, expect your phones on Monday.

We receive the phone even without UPS tracking yet?

Sweet, thanks!

Interesting, I actually already haev a shipping label associated with my order. Perhaps I can just use that. I placed my order via phone and they already assigned my phones for the trade-ins with my order. So based on your process, it looks like I don't have to do that again. But I will still give a call and confirm. You never know when it comes to T-Mo!

So what are people's experiences with picking up the package at UPS rather than delivery to home? Now, the issue is one of my other family members name is on the box but same address, will they let me still get it? Or does the person with the exact name have to pick it up? My license would show same last name and address.

The name and address on the box should match to the ID of the one picking it up.

You were promised a phone on launch day? You ordered on 9/9 (like I did), and they actually told you that you would receive your Black/Jet Black (I forget which) phone on the 19th? I'm just making sure this is something you were actually TOLD, versus something you inferred from "preordering on Day 1".

When I ordered, they told me on the phone that shipping dates for the Black 128 GB Plus had already slipped to October. They said my wife's Rose Gold would be received on launch day (it was), but that mine may take a couple of weeks, depending upon Apple's shipments.

Weird.

This will be my first iPhone so this experience has really ruined it for me. I went to the store on release day and was the fourth person in line. When the store finally opened they said they only had 3 iPhones, and then they let the 1st person in line buy 2 of those. The other 20 people in line were very upset after that.

this is my first iPhone ever, and this preorder fiasco will be my last. I'll be ordering from Apple next time.

I dealt with alot of CSRs. I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt but man did I get so many different answers everytime I called in.

It's important to note that there is a special group/department handling the "iPhone On Us" promotion. You have to make sure you're dealing with them and not a standard trade in. It's two different products on their computer program.

Same name or address should be fine. I have done that a few at my UPS center. One time actually, even my address didn't match. I just told them the name on the package, showed them the tracking number on my phone and my ID and they let me pick it up. But the later seems like a YMMV thing so I would just call.

EDIT: They also verbally asked me to verify the address on the package in the second case since it didn't match my ID.

Now question is I'd like to return my 2 old iphone 6 phones back.
I rather go to the local tmobile store instead of shipping, packaging etc...
Anyone had a good experience or they send you home and told you to do it on your own?
And I would like to receive credit to the EIP program, not all at once in a phone bill.
Input?

Meh.. plenty of people have had their fair share of crappy experiences with Apple on launch day.

I don't blame you though. I have gone through many iPhone launch pre orders and I'm done. Next time I buy an iPhone I won't be dealing with the hassle of a pre order.

im also trading in my iPhone 5 for an iPhone 7+ plus 128gb. i tried doing the trade in process online but somehow it says my order number is invalid. so i spoke to a rep about the situation, he then said that not to worry that when i receive the new phone, i would ship the old phone , then upon receiving the old phone they will put my account and apply the trade in credit. i received a shipping label yesterday, so idk what happens next.

1. People on other forums have mentioned that returning to the store is YMMV thing. So you can try but not 100% guaranteed that you will be able to do that. I would personally go through the mailing option since that seems like the "official" way for this promotion.
2. I don't think you can receive credits for your phone towards your EIP. It's a set deal. One time credit for your phone directly applied to your balance within 1-2 billing cycles after they receive your phone and monthly credits towards your EIP.

That's not what I heard.
In order to make it free they apply the credit over the next 24 months to your EIP. So your bill is not higher than it was before. It adds and credits back the same amount for example. That's what many others did and what Tmobile reps told me.
It sucks that its so much uncertainty and unknowns with this deal.
