And they claim to be the DEV TEAM!!!

The iPhone Dev Team consistent of Musclenerd, Pod2g, Planet Being, and Poisixninja. We are long time jailbreakers and love spending time cracking Apple's code. We're the best yo.

Wonder how many suckers will get pulled into this??

Why would you make fun of the iPhone Dev Team? They're freaking legendary, probably some of the best if not the best in the world at what they do. And suckers pulled into this? HUH? What an idiotic post.

It is my own stupid fault for adding an untrusted repo, but I had to restore from 6.0.2 this week. iOS 7 is pretty sweet, but the jb is now officially taking too long. lol

Not a day goes by without me missing the iOS 6 Jailbreak. I had to upgrade to 6.1.3 after I messed up stuff in iFile.

I can't wait for the new Jailbreak! I might even buy another iphone just to have one that is jailbreakable in case my current one breaks.

I'm not making fun of the dev team, far from it. I agree with you about their legendary status.

I'm pointing out that whoever has created this webpage and the subsequent video are PRETENDING to be the dev team!!!

Hence my comment of 'how many suckers will get pulled into this one'.

What are you referring to? You should quote or link.

My apologies, I was getting cross-threaded!!

I started to read about a jailbreak on another thread, and for some stupid reason, decided to post my comments on this thread.

The link I was referring to in my previous posts is http://team7jailbreak.com/

Sorry again for the confusion :(

FYI. That site is FAKE. No jailbreak for 7.0 exists yet. Do NOT believe any website that says they have a jailbreak for 7.0

It will likely be after 7.1 is released. Why release before then when the exploit can be patched in 7.1?

Exactly right. Dev team is ready to release they are just waiting for final version of 7.1. Historically x.1 updates have contained crucial performance enhancements for older devices.

Nope, try reading this thread, it just isn't ready.

Btw it is evad3rs not the dev team.

I am curious as to what effect this will have on the JB though. Obviously not a problem for a 7.0.x JB but would they burn exploits for that and risk not being able to get a 7.1 JB out (ever)...then again if there is no alternative.....I'll stop you hate guess work :p

‏@iH8sn0w
.@AshiyaShashwat 7.1 does patch the mobilebackup2 exploit to write to /var via the MediaDomain symlink…

This just the beta. 7.1 final hasn't been released yet, anything can change.

@hi8sn0w was working on the 6.1.3/4 JB when they discovered the exploits work on 7.x also, so the 6.1.3/4 JB is on hold, apperently 1 of those exploits got fixed in 7.1beta

Evad3rs have commented on beta's but not mentioned anything on possible fixes though.
Best guess is the exploits are still open and they are hard at work getting a proper untethered JB.

If apple injected some code into ios that detects a jailbreak and voids warranty in apples database, would you still jailbreak?

I didn't actually think about it that way, its only really @i0n1c and @hi8sn0w that have mentioned it so maybe it won't have as much of an impact as some imply. If they used it before, then its possible they might have planned for it to be fixed at some point so hopefully they have an alternative and all this panic (everyone upgrading to 7.0.4 now in case even though 7.1 is still in beta lol) will be for nothing.

Hopefully we hear some news about it soon, either in time to get everything to 7.0.4 or an all clear.

The whole way Jbing works is exploiting apple's security on the phone, they wouldn't know.

Yes but apps can check if the iPhone is jailbroken. Say apple makes a app that detects jailbreak(or having root access to phone) and it sends the phone imei to a database that voids your warranty.

Those apps look to see if you have an app named cydia installed. There are tweaks in cydia that undo that and worst come to worst just don't name it cydia in the file sysytem.

If apple implemented such a thing, I would imagine the jailbreak would be coded to disable such a feature since they have root access to do whatever they please...

I would love a system like Motorola and htc has to unlock bootloaders that voids your warranty. Unfortunately I could never see apple doing it. I don't see any advantage of this on their end. It also opens up a can of worms with piracy.

If it really had impact evad3rs would already have mentioned it.
