all rumors so far point towards an iPhone 7 with a very similar design, just some cosmetic changes like the antennas being removed in some places, and maybe lighter/thinner overall device (of course). The 7 "pro" or PlusPlus or whatever could surprise us with an edge-to-edge screen, dual cameras, better screen - but I am going to guess we won't see a new screen until the 7s. And I will wait until then, or at least upgrade to a 6s when the 7 comes out.

Every iPhone release has surprises. Saying the 7 is a similar design with cosmetic changes is most probably true; and that will be coupled with some game changers.

I really hope what I am seeing so far isn't the "final" design. It's basically the 6/6S all over again without lines. It's a classic design but where is the innovation Apple? What's happening here? It's going to take more than removing lines and possibly adding another camera for me to bump up. I need to see some cool new features and design.

I will keep an open mind but I hope there is more :)

This is true, every iPhone has had some surprises, maybe the dual camera or something to do with the headphone jack this year?

Apple does usually add a nice surprise or feature to every iPhone, Touch ID, Bigger iPhones and last year was Live Photos and 3D Touch.

With the chassis similar to the 6/6s it's like apple's cycle now is tick-tock-tock. Maybe the next generation after the 7 will be a tick with new everything and they will drop the numerals and called it iPhone and IPhone Pro.

Okay, best to me, is subjective.
[doublepost=1457881158][/doublepost]
The 6s looks iconic not dated, which is something Samsung will never achieve.
S7 has a better screen objectively. You can prefer iPhone 3G screen to galaxy s7 edge, whatever, but the fact remains iPhone doeesn't have the best display out there anymore.
S7 is much easier to use with one hand than 6s plus and looks nicer from the front. The classical iPhone design doesn't work anymore for the phablet sized 6s plus. Apple needs to shave a few millimeters off from iPhone 6s bezels, top/bottom and from the sides.

I buy what I feel is best for me, not from a spec sheet.

I have to agree with that, last years S6 beat Apple on a spec sheet but in real world use the iPhone 6s proved to be faster and better, higher specs don't always mean it's the best.
No, but for me, the only downfall(and it is hughe) of the s7 vs the 6s, is the lack of iOS.
Better screen, better camera, also a fast soc, nice materials.
For new customers, they need at least on par hw.
You know, you are already a customer.
But there are lots of new customers out there, that aren' t tied in yet, and make other choices based on other factors than we do.
Apple needs to address this group for growth.
This way they' ll loose in the long run.

The bigger camera seems to line-up perfectly with the supposed leaked-case from last week (from OnLeaks).

This pretty much confirms that the bezels were not reduced in the slightest. If they were, the case would have been smaller (since I doubt Apple increased the size of the screen 0.1 or 0.2").

So far, this phone does not really live-up to the 10th iPhone hype :(

Not sure to get new customers Apple has to have a spec sheet war. Only, imo, of course, others will voice their own opinion.

If that's for the iPhone 7 4.7" like it says it is then I wonder how bigger the camera for the iPhone 7 Plus and or Pro will be with the dual camera.

Okay, your opinion, I disagree. The screen is still tops.

If Apple announces another look a like iPhone 6s or Pluse, they are dated, not iconic in the least. The S7 edge display is stunning compared to the iPhone 6s or Plus. The style is appealing, and many think so, and Apple needs to step up its game with a better screen, smaller bezel, wireless charging, water resistant. Samsung lacks in some area's, but Apple does as well in so many ways. I won't even go into the difference in Camera quality

I like the iPhone looks better than the s7; only my opinion it doesn't look dated. And if I had to get another phone now, it would be the iPhone 6s. And please define "many"?

The s7 though is the phone to first try out when I'm in the carrier store next...as of now nobody in my circle has one.

I know! I gotta say, the bigger camera from this image is not what I was expecting. I was expecting the same-sized camera as the 6s, so that part of the leak I certainly like.

As for the dual-camera, that is still a mystery, though I imagine Apple will position it sideways. Every other manufacturer with dual-cameras have not nailed their design, so I'm curious to see how Apple handles it.

Maybe they will still add a better camera to the 7 (that's why it's bigger?) but the 7 Plus and or the Pro will have the dual camera.
With the Plus and or Pro being bigger phones there is probably more room for a dual camera.

Yes, I think they will. They can always add bigger sensors, bigger pixels, and a larger aperture to the iPhone 7's camera. Just because it's not a dual-camera doesn't mean it can't be good!

But yes, the Plus/Pro certainly have more space available for two cameras.

Seems a little bit more narrow than current 6 design.
I don't see it. Either way, it looks all right, but I have a hard time believing that the only things that will be changed in terms of design are the antenna lines and the protruding camera. There has to be something else to it.

Yes, but perhaps there is more to it indeed. All we see is the backside and not a lot of the sides. The Alu unibody could be a lot more shallow than it is on the 6/s.
Could be the sides are half curved glass of the glass front panel curved down and half aluminum. The curved glass and Alu could meet in the middle. Or even more glass than Alu on the sides.
Would pave the way for curved oled display over the sides in the 7s?

Nice find, i did not see that one :)
[doublepost=1457863556][/doublepost]

Such as? i cant see what else Apple can do, the shape of the iPhone isn't going to change much, the removal of the antenna bands and the camera sitting flush in the phone are rumoured at the moment, that will change the design a little.

Such as the 4 was different to the 5 which was different to the 6. The 6 is the second ugliest iphone design in the history of iphones after the plastic 3g/3gs. Theres plenty of ways to change the design.
