This looks pretty nice imo. Very clean.

I was thinking the same thing, if the iPhone 7 looks like this then I'll be happy. Here is another one from Stagueve on Twitter who is a famous leaker who has tweaked the image to suit the scamatics more precisely.

I just hope it doesn't look as much like the 6s as the reports have said... They really need to change the design for it... It's the iPhone's 10 year anniversary, right?

Maybe they will still add a better camera to the 7 (that's why it's bigger?) but the 7 Plus and or the Pro will have the dual camera.
With the Plus and or Pro being bigger phones there is probably more room for a dual camera.

The lenses themselves based off patents and the LinX acquisition will be different, because they are using different modules so that they sit flush on the back. The sensor itself I've heard will be the same that is in the s7. The sensor is made by Sony.

I agree it would be a bit disappointing if it was just a smaller 6s but with the iPhone SE apparently being planned as a budget model I don't think Apple would invest a lot of money into redesigning that version and would save that for the iPhone 7 & 7 Plus instead.

Also the latest reports claim that the iPhone SE is more likely to look like the iPhone 5s but with the internals of the iPhone 6s.

You know if iPhone 7 is going dual-camera with computational photography that pretty much trumps any other smartphone camera out there.

I think the antenna lines are still there, although better-placed than the 6. This is how the 6 should've been in the first place.

No, but for me, the only downfall(and it is hughe) of the s7 vs the 6s, is the lack of iOS.
Better screen, better camera, also a fast soc, nice materials.
For new customers, they need at least on par hw.
You know, you are already a customer.
But there are lots of new customers out there, that aren' t tied in yet, and make other choices based on other factors than we do.
Apple needs to address this group for growth.
This way they' ll loose in the long run.
I'm quite sure the Apple A10 will be way faster than S7 SoC ...
S7 still don't have 3Dtouch we have on our iPhone...

Samsung could have an impressive specs list, but in real world usage they are still dragging behind...

Acording to another leaker the iPhone 7 could look like this based on the leaked scamatics
I think it's beautiful..
Is this thread for real, looks exactly the same as the 6 , just without antenna lines
You didn't see the front....
The camera module is different and not protruding.

if this is how they are doing the antenna, why even put metal chassis between it and the glass? they should just make them be up against the glass on top and bottom, between the glass and rear chassis. much cleaner and less noticeable that way.

the bands just look odd like this.

I agree with you. But Apple can' t get away with not offering a higher contrast and dpi screen another year. Lcd or not. Just a relative small bump in quality and res will be enough.

The snapdragon 820 in the s7 still doesn't even fully beat the A9. Single core which is more important is still better on the A9. A10 will only widen that gap again, and close the gap on multi core even with less total cores.

It's really a ho hum design if true. Absolutely no antenna lines would look nice. I wish Apple would go back to glass on the front and back. Or an iPad Air look with chamfered edges and without antenna lines, somehow. At least they are trying to get rid of the camera hump.

The bands look odd on the 6 series too though. Apple should take note of HTC's one. That's much cleaner looking at least.

right but it seems on the 6 it was necessary to go through the back of the device.

if they no longer need to on the 7, push those bands outwards to the very top/bottom along the glass

I agree. This one just looks like a placeholder interim design till they can find a better solution.

I don't care what the back looks like. Its the front where I hope the real changes are! ie, bigger screen, smaller bezels etc.

This sums it up quite well. We end up seeing the front of the device more than the back anyways, plus cases hide the back.

Don't care about the antenna lines. Don't care about thinness. I do care about camera (and if we don't get optical zoom I find it hard to justify an upgrade for camera alone unless we see significant and phenomenal low.kigjt improvement). In short, if these rumors are true, it's not looking good for my upgrade prospects.

Yeah, I agree. So far, it's looking like that "Dual cameras reserved for 7 Plus/Pro ONLY" rumors are going to be true. I will be extremely disappointed if that's the case.

Although, I definitely see the credibility of these rumors growing. We've heard a lot about the antennae bands disappearing, and if the camera was to get larger, they would have to go to avoid "touching" the camera.

I'm surprised at how much larger that camera cutout appears. A big camera upgrade?

Dual lens can/will give 3x optical zoom (which will be a smartphone first?) according to what's been said about the dual lens technology. But dual lens might only be on the Plus and Pro (or maybe just Pro)

Try not to be fooled by Samsung 's marketing machine. iPhone screen contrast is fantastic. By far the best on lcd market. The only way Samsung can claim a better contrast is because OLED technology allow for true blacks (with pixels turned off entirely) so 0:500 seems better than, for instance 0,03:550 ... but in real world performance there isn't any significant difference.
The only way Apple could improve display, in a way, is by raising resolution. It would be partially useful, as far as it doesn't affect performance and battery life.

Agree. The A9X is by far the best out there...
I'm looking forward to see an extensive review by anandtech to see the thermal behavior of snapdragon 820 under load to check if it throttle like hell as every single SoC does except Apple 's.
