I think this style of case (those that are ~.35mm thick) are mostly about scratches, not drops.

exactly. i badly wanted to go "naked" with the iPhone but wanted to be able to set down the phone on a surface without worrying about what I am setting the phone down on scratching it badly. The Peel does this. i totally get it doesn't protect from drops.

Can I ask how you like the Peel? I like the no-branding approach, and I had a Caudabe Veil for my 6 but they always started to flare at the edges after a couple of weeks.

Still waiting for my 7+ to arrive but my cases are here. On the left is an elago origin and the right is a supcase unicorn beetle. The elago is 0.38 mm and will be my main case with the supcase being reserved for situations where I need some drop protection.

I dunno if you'd consider this case "minimalist," but I'm using it for the iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black because I want to be able to use the phone naked, but still have some protection while it's in-hand. As a side bonus, I've been able to ditch my wallet.

Small piece of irony - I had it in a TPU clear case before getting this for one day - got a little scratch just from putting it in and then taking it back out of that case. Since then, I've been using this Dockem case for three days and no new scratches...

As in it collected dirt? Wouldn't any of these?

Anyone else have experience with the Peel vs. any of the other slim cases?

I am using the peel case on my 7 plus and it's been wonderful. No complaints other than price.

the outer matte black material is fantastic in feel and looks. I'll most likely be getting a bumper though. also has space in the inner side for a metal plate for those magnetic mounts. I have a Scosche in mine.

I have the same case.
It's nice but a tad bulkier then I like.
I really love how the Evutec fits my 6s+ and th feel of the case is great to.

I picked up a Caudabe Veil XT. Much improved over the 6S, it's got a lot more grip now. I've been more of a Caudabe Sheath fan in the past half year though. It feels TPU-ish to me and isn't that much thicker than the Veil XT but actually protects from drops and won't break. I'm just waiting for them to release the Sheath for the 7.

I thought it was pretty thin.

got pics of the Evutec you have? all the ones I'm seeing on Amazon are pretty big. and I wanted one that looks like the phone itself.

I ended up ordering a couple more (with fuller coverage that included the top and bottom) for both my 7 and Plus. I like how it looks like it's skin-tight and covers more of the camera area...

I got the Caudabe Veil XT in today. Very nice. Cutouts are perfect. The back gives a slight lip for the camera cutout in order to lie down safely. Looks and feels fantastic.

Do you have a screen protector?
Let's see some pics.

Ive done some searching but does anyone have a fairly complete list of cases in the 0.6 to 1.0 mm range? For my 6 I had a TOAST wood skin and really liked it but I feel like trying something different this time.

Big fan of the Power Support Air Jacket. IMO it's the perfect combination of fit, finish and protection in a very slim and minimal profile. Last year's model was approx. 1.2mm, but it feels even thinner than that.

I've had one of those for my iPhone 6 a couple of years ago and they are nice but still just a tad thicker then what I prefer.

I had the Evutec on my 6s Plus witch I have sold to a coworker.

I like the open top and bottom cause it makes the phone feel smaller.
I'm waiting for Evutec to come out with cases for the 7 Plus.

Fair enough. They are just a tad thicker than what I prefer too tbh, but they have also saved me from a couple of drops, and I just wouldn't feel confident with the 0.35mm Veil XT's of the world.

I know how you feel.
Those type of cases just don't last me more then a couple of months if that.

The Evutec was alot sturdier and just felt so good and slim in hand.

What I've noticed is that the sides of the case is the same height as the screen and just the corners of the case have a lip witch raises the screen off the table if you like to place your phone screen down.

That sounds nice. Is that the S series with top and bottom uncovered?

Yes. I'm waiting for there new updated S series to see how it compares and if the fit is not the same then I'll probably get the Pitaka case witch look like the Karbon S series Evutec ones.

The one thing that bothers me about cases with to much lip is that my fingers are unable to slide across the screen without feeling the lip.

Without a case I love the feeling of my thumbs or fingers sliding off the side of the glass.

Doesn't anyone know of .35mm-.4mm cases that are clear/transparent? I want to show off my Jet Black but all the ones i see are "frosted white"

Man-o-day.. if you're a jet black owner you have to be super super super careful in the few minutes before you slap a back case on this thing. I only had it laid down on the table twice yesterday no movement and once I laid it down on the side of my tub while I was in the bathroom picked up very carefully with no rubbing on the surface.Today I just installed my outer case and noticed too long microscratches just at the bottom of the back cover. Micro scratches can only be seen at a certain angle in bright sunlight or in a room with a bright light. Those who were predicting that this jet black surface would scratch more easily weren't kidding. 24 hours in and I have two major micro scratches on might that I won't be able to get rid of. When you look straight on you can't see them so out of sight out of mind. But I can't stand even the thought of even one micro scratch. So be very very careful jet black owners.
