Is the Flexislim a jelly/TPU type of case but matte/rubberized? Or is it a thin hard PC case but so thin that it is flexible? It is very hard to tell from photos or videos. Thanks!

It's not jelly like sticky tpu. It isn't hard though. It's pretty flexible. I've never had any of the others like the Veil so I'm not sure if it's similar to those. I think it might be a little softer but I'm not sure.

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a minimal case that has exact speaker cutouts like this, but would like something thicker than the ultra-thin 0.35mm cases out there. Anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: Power Support isn't shipping its new Air Jacket until 10/28. I'd love to find something else before then because nearly two months after launch is unacceptable IMO.

I used SwitchEasy's Nude case series for my iPhone 6s Plus and really liked it. It is thin, 0.8mm and protects the rear camera. It was also 360 protection I had the rubberized red version for the IP6+ which helped with grip. Currently they sell they a clear version of the 7+ on Amazon. I don't have the clear version so I am unable to speak about its durability. However, the version that I had held up nicely.

Thanks a lot! I would love a rubberized version (so I think I'm going to ask their customer support team) but this looks really promising. The metallic chrome coating also sounds interesting. I wonder if it will cut back on fingerprints and/or slipperiness?

Yeah. I am curious about that as well, I really liked the textured of the rubber version. If you try it out, please report back on how you like. I would love to know what you think.

I am currently using the LUVVITT Ultra Slim. It is okay. I don't really like the TPU feel and the fit is so-so (loose at the bottom near the lightning port.

Yeah I gave up on TPU cases a while ago for exactly that reason. PC (especially rubberized PC) just feels so much nicer. Plus the fit is almost always better with a rigid, tight-fitting case. I reached out to their customer support team and will let you know if/when I hear back, but as of right now I'm planning to order the clear one and try it out!

One downside. It looks like the camera lens is still protruding, which makes sense at 0.6mm.

Weird!! My Nude for the 6s+ was just thick enough to protect the rear camera. When I laid the phone on it's back, it laid flat.

Is the 7+ camera bump bigger?

Bought a tech21 Evo Wallet case.

gallery-1473711061-tech21-iphone-7-wallet.jpg

The case is made of a very durable, soft synthetic compound which does not feel sticky at all to the touch and does not pick up dust and lint. As the native color is a semi-translucent black it works very well with black iphones, but lacking an inner cloth liner I wouldn't use it with the jet black color, as there might be microscratches.

The lid has space for two cards, as visible in the picture; the two halves snap together with magnets. Rather slick. Also, this way you can lose both your phone and your credit/debit card(s) when you forget your phone somewhere or it gets stolen. Two birds in one stone!

If you don't want a lid on the case it snaps off using a set of inner clasps, and you put a lid-less plastic adapter in its place (included in the box.) This makes taking photos with the main camera considerably easier, but of course doesn't protect the screen against impacts...

The case is fairly substantial compared to some, Apple's own included, meaning it protects the phone very well against impacts, especially with the lid closed. It's like an all-encompassing bumper, pretty much. It also makes your phone heavier and appear larger by about 3-4mm in width, height and thickness, so it's not possible to both have cake and eat it. So to speak.

I rather like it, would rate 4.5/5

I just received my Peel case and it's amazing. Exactly what I was looking for. I can't even tell I have a case on.

I got my Tozo case today. I like the Orzy much better. The orzly is more flexible and come up to the edge of the e2e screen protector to make it look and feel seamless.
Does anyone know if the Elago is more like the Orzly or the Tozo?

Received the Pitaka black grey and am very impressed. It makes the iPhone feel like the iPhone should feel but gives it extra grip, scratch protection and a great look and feel. The rubber insert around the camera is nice as it protects it from touching the surface and keeps the phone from sliding etc. They give you a couple extras incase it comes loose etc. It came in a nice case with a nice hand written thank you card.

It also came with a nice glass screen protector but like with most I've tried even if you line it up perfectly some parts of the edges don't stick down due to the curve of the iPhone glass. Its a minor thing but with mild OCD I may try another screen protector. Again its all about the case here. Screen protectors are so cheap these days and you get 2-3 in a pack.

Thanks

It seems most of the ultra-slim cases (0.3mm etc) have a hard plastic surface. I'm looking for minimalism with GRIP. The grip is the main reason I'm getting a case, to PREVENT me from dropping the phone in the first place, or slide of the sofa, my knee, whatever.

The matte black iPhone 7 is extremely slippery especially around the edges after a while when hand grease have polished it up..it can literally flick from your hands any time while filming..be careful out there kids!

Since these slim cases don't offer much if any drop protection you might as well buy a skin for your phone. I think that would be the best option for grip

Sorry but whats the difference? I though those super slim cases were called "skins"..or are skins a different product?

These slim cases are actually "cases" since they just pop onto your phone. Skins on the other hand have a small amount of glue, like a sticker, and stick to your phone. Instead of plastic they are more of a vinyl and companies can add texture to them.

I received my Pitaka Aramid iPhone 7 plus case over the weekend and finally have a case that will be staying on my iP7 for good. On my iPhone 6 plus the Evutec Karbon S Osprey case was my go to, it protected my 6 plus from numerous drops while giving me the slimmest profile case. I just found out Pitaka made the Karbon S Osprey case for Evutec! The pitaka Aramid case is well designed and fits the 7 Plus like a glove. I personally love the Aramid weave and provides the case with a nice grippy texture. I personally hate cases with lips as I always have a glass protector on, so all you lip lovers out there you might want to look elsewhere. But in terms of a low profile case that provides drop protection look no further! This case will be on my phone for a long time.

Nice review. And that's good to know. I loved my Evutec SI Carbon on my 6s+ so that has me checking out both Evutec and Pitaka. For right now I'm looking for clear cases but I might get over that to get a good case. The Evutec was expensive but was the only case I tried that never left my phone; it immediately ended my case search!

Maybe try the SwitchEasy Nude. It comes in clear and smoke. It is a hard case with 360 protection. I had one for my 6s+ and loved it. Slim profile with protection and good grip. I just ordered the smoke grey from Amazon and I should have it by Friday.
